Did you know, today, June 1st, is World Milk Day?
Room 10 wrote letters to Fonterra who are sponsors of our milk. We enjoy
our milk every day!
Dear Fonterra We thank you for bringing milk to our school. Because today is World Milk Day. And thank you to the Farmers who milk the cows in the morning so we get milk. And thank you for delivering it to most schools in NZ. Milk is good for your teeth, bones and muscles and when you drink it you get lots of vitamins and calcium. From, Petra
Kia ora koutou. Nga mihi nui ki te whanau o te kura Puketapu. Hello to Parents and Caregivers
We have had a lot of fun learning over the last week! Rimu children have been learning through Adventure Time – pop in and join them any Thursday afternoon. Rooms 5, 6 & 7 tamariki are scientists, you’ll see ‘science in the kitchen’, electricity exploration and sound investigations.
Enjoy ‘Moment in Time’ writing from children in Room 8 while Room 10 have celebrated World Milk Day and are writing thank you letters to Fonterra for our Milk in School.
Room 9 have been putting their scientific hats on and making some exciting discoveries and finally, Room 13 are busy with their Enterprise projects with Market day this Friday – come shopping.
All children will be involved in a School Production which will be presented in term 3. Auditions are underway and there’ll soon be plenty more song and dance around the school.
Key Competencies
This term our staff, have been looking at well-being – ways we can take care of our own well-being so we can take good care of your tamariki. The self-management aspect of this for me has been eating well and drinking plenty of water – next week my goal will be to get some exercise so feel free to check my self-management!
This week we’ll look at the key competency “Relating to Others”
Is about interacting effectively with a diverse range of people.
Includes the ability to listen actively, recognise different points of view, negotiate and share ideas.
Know when it is appropriate to compete and when to co-operate.
Talk with your tamariki what Relating to Others looks like at school and at home.
Thank you for your support for Puketapu School.
Enjoy the long weekend.
Nga mihi nui. Kia pai to ra whakata.
