INTRODUCTIE

The LCD screen is the component of the phone that allows the user to see the oututs from the circuitboard once the actions have been converted interally inside the phone from the users input.

Stap 1 — Remove the battery cover

Make sure the phone is turned offby pressing the power off button toensure no data is lost.

Remove the back battery cover bysliding it downward and pushingsimultaneously.

Stap 2 — Remove the battery

Using either your thumb or theopening tools, remove the battery byprying the battery out in the directionof the arrow.

If removing battery is for thereplacement of a new battery makesure to properly dispose of the oldbattery at a recycling center.

Stap 3 — Removing the plastic inserts

Remove the rubber inserts from the screw holes using the black metal tweezers. This is done byinserting the tip of the metal tweezers down around the plastic insert.

Stap 4 — Remove the shield screws

Remove the four 3.1mm Phillips #00 screws from the corners.

This is done by turning the screwdriver counter clockwise using little torque.




Stap 5 — Separate the case

Separate the phone's front case from the back case.

There is an intermediate decorative outlay around the front cases perimeter. This should beremoved as well.

Stap 6 — Remove the volume slider

Remove the volume slider button byusing the tweezers to pry it out.

The volume slider button may fall outduring the seperation of the frontand back cases, this is ok.




Stap 7 — Remove the motherboard

Using the opening tools, separate the circuit board from the inside of the back case by pryingbetween the circuit board and the case as shown.

The last picture is a view of the back of the circuit board.

Stap 8 — Pry the screen back

Using the opening tools, pry the LED screen back to give access to the connecting ribbon cable.

The LED screen is connected to the mother board with light adhesive which can easily beseparated.




Stap 9 — Disconnect the display

Use a soldering iron to melt awaythe connection between the ribboncable and circuit board.

The solder iron creates hightemperatures that may cause bodilyharm.

Only make contact with the solderconnection. This will ensure nodamage to the mother board or anyother components of the phone

Stap 10 — Remove the display

Once the solder connection has heated up, apply slight tension to the ribbon cable which will allowfor complete removal of the LED screen.




To reassemble your device with a new LED screen, follow these instructions in reverse order. Note thatyou will need to use the soldering iron again to assemble the new LED screen ribbon to the phone.
