PrefacePreface

very generation all along the line of the history of the Echurch have a pattern of music which they use in worship. The kind of music that any people produce is a reflection of their heart condition and their relationship with the Father. The songs carry the theology of the people and reflect their understanding of God. Songs written in the time of revival portray the people's experience of GOD.

Our nation is passing through a period of terrible experience. Yet the cry in our heart is that God should send us a revival. But we know certainly that any revival sent to us at a time when right men who know the right methods of ministry are not on the ground would be wasted. Thus, before the revival comes, we need correct men who bears the correct message and who knows the correct methods of ministry. Such men who the master has sat upon and has poured His life into them. These are the disciples of Jesus

Such men who lived and laboured in the yesteryears wrote hymn that still communicate the mind of Christ. Here is a compilation of some of such hymns and a few written by men of like mind who are looking up to God for a visitation.

A careful look at the music played in the Church now shows that the Church is in the wilderness. As we pray carefully through these hymns, we are asking that God may visit His saving grace upon our lives and grant us a revival that our land may enter into rest.

1. Precious Lord, take my hand,

Lead me on, help me stand.

I am tired, I am weak, I am worn,

Thro' the storm, thro' the night,

Lead me on to the light.

Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

2. When my way grows drear,

Precious Lord, linger near,

When my life is almost gone.

Hear my cry, hear my call,

Hold my hand lest I fall.

Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home.

3. When the darkness appears

And the night draws near,

And the day is past and gone

At the river I stand,

Guide my feet, hold my hand,

Take my hand, precious Lord, lead me home

1. Saviour, like a Shepherd lead us,

Much we need Thy tender care;

In Thy pleasant pastures feed us,

For our use Thy folds prepare:

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are;

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.

2. We are Thine, do Thou be friend us,

Be the Guardian of our way;

Keep Thy flock, from sin defend us,

Seek us when we go astray:

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Hear, O hear us when we pray;

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Hear, O hear us when we pray.

3. Thou hast promised to receive us,

Poor and sinful though we be;

Thou hast mercy to relieve us,

Grace to cleanse and pow'r to free:

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Early let us turn to Thee.

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Early let us turn to Thee.

Early let us do Thy will;

Blessed Lord and only Saviour,

With thy love our bosoms fill:

Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus,

Thou hast loved us, love us still;

Thou hast loved us, love us still.

1. More love to Thee, O Christ,

More love to Thee!

Hear Thou the Prayer I make on bended knee.

This is my earnest plea: More love,

O Christ, to Thee,

More love to Thee, more love to Thee!

2. Once earthly joy I craved,

Sought peace and rest;

Now Thee alone I seek; Give what is best.

This all my prayer shall be: More love,

O Christ, to Thee,

More love to Thee, More love to Thee!

3. Then shall my latest breath

Whisper Thy praise;

This be the parting cry my heart shall raise.

This still its prayer shall be; More love,

O Christ, to Thee,

More love to Thee, More love to Thee!

Wherever He leads I'll go, Wherever He leads I'll go;I'll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever He leads I'll go.

2. He drew me closer to His side,I sought His will to know,And in that will I now abide,Wherever He leads I'll go,

3. It may be thro' the shadows dim,Or o'er the stormy sea,I take my cross and follow Him,Wherever He leadeth me.

O the fullness of redemption,

2. Take the world, but give me Jesus;

Sweetest comfort of my soul.

With my Saviour watching o'er me,

1. Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee, E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me! Still all my song shall be: nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee.

2. Though like the wanderer, The sun gone down, Darkness be over me, my rest a stone; Yet in my dreams I'd be nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee.

3. There let the way appear, steps unto heav'n; All that thou sendest me, in mercy giv'n; Angels to beckon me, nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee.

4. Then, with my waking tho'ts bright with Thy praise, Out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise; So by my woes to be nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, nearer to Thee.

5. Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky, Sun, Moon, and Stars forgot, upward I fly, Still all my song shall be: Nearer, my God, to Thee; Nearer, my God, to Thee, Nearer to Thee.

KEY F

15.1. I am Thine, O Lord; I have heard Thy voice,

And it told Thy love to me.

But I long to rise in the arms of faith,

And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,

To the cross where Thou hast died.

Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,

To Thy precious bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,

By the pow'r of grace divine.

Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,

And my will be lost in Thine

3. O the pure delight of a single hour

That before Thy throne I spend,

When I kneel in prayer and with Thee, my God,

I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know

Till I cross the narrow sea;

There are heights of joy that I may not reach

Till I rest in peace with Thee.

1. I 'm pressing on the upward way,

New heights I'm gaining every day;

Still praying as I onward bound

“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

Lord, lift me up and let me stand

By faith on heaven's table land;

A higher plane than I have found

Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay

Where doubts arise and fears dismay;

Tho' some may dwell where these abound,

My prayer, my aim, is higher ground.

3. I want to live above the world,

Tho' Satan's darts at me are hurled;

For faith has caught the joyful sound,

The song of saints on higher ground.

4. I want to scale the utmost height

And catch a gleam of glory bright;

But still I'll pray till heav'n I've found,

“Lord lead me on to higher ground.”

1. O Master, let me walk with Thee

In lowly paths of service free;

Tell me Thy secret, help me bear

The strain of toil, the fret of care.

2. Help me the slow of heart to move

By some clear, winning word of love;

Teach me the wayward feet to stay,

And guide them in the homeward way.

3. Teach me Thy patience; still with Thee

In closer dearer company,

In work that keeps faith sweet and strong,

In trust that triumphs over wrong.

4. In hope that sends a shining ray

Far down the future's broad'ning way,

In peace that only Thou canst give,

With Thee, O Master, let me live.

1. Sweetly, Lord, have we heard Thee calling,

“Come, follow Me!”

And we see where Thy footprints falling,

Lead us to Thee.

Footprints of Jesus that make the pathway glow;

We will follow the steps of Jesus wher-e’er they go.

Seeking His sheep,

Or along by Siloam's fountains,

Helping the weak.

Preaching the Word,

Or in homes of the poor and lowly,

Serving the Lord.

4. Then at last, when on high He sees us,

Our journey done,

We will rest where the steps of Jesus

End at His throne.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;How great Thou art, how great Thou art!Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

3. And when I think that God, His Son not sparing, Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, He bled and died to take away my sin.

4. When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation,And take me home, What joy shall fill my heart!Then I shall bow in humble adoration.And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!

2. Feeding on the husks around me, Till my strength was almost gone,Longed my soul for something better, Only still to hunger on.

56.1. The Master hath come, and He calls us to follow

The track of the footprints He leaves on our way;Far over the mountain and thro' the deep hollow, The path leads us on to the mansions of day:The Master hath called us, the children who fear Him,Who march 'neath Christ's banner, His own little band;We love Him and seek Him, we long to be near Him,And rest in the light of His beautiful land.

2. The Master hath called us; the road may be dreary,And dangers and sorrows are strewn on the track;But God's Holy spirit shall comfort the weary;We follow the Saviour and cannot turn back;The Master hath called us: tho' doubt and temptation May compass our journey, we cheerfully sing:“Press onward, look up-ward,” thro' much tribulation;The children of Zion must follow their King.

3. The Master hath called us, in life's early morning, With spirits as fresh as the dew on the sod:We turn from the world, with its smiles and its scorning, To cast in our lot with the people of God:The Master hath called us, His sons and His daughters, We plead for His blessing and trust in His love;And thro' the green pastures, beside the still waters,He'll lead us at last to His Kingdom above.

1. If I gained the world but lost the Saviour,

Were my life worth living for a day?

Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort

In the things that soon must pass away?

If I gained the world, but lost the Saviour,

Would my gain be worth the life-long strife?

Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing

For a moment with a Christ-filled life?

2. Had I wealth and love in fullest measure,

And a name revered both far and near,

Yet no hope beyond, no harbour waiting

Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer

If I gained the world, but lost the Saviour,

Who endured the cross and died for me,

Could then all the world afford a refuge,

Whither in my anguish I might flee?

3. O what emptiness without the Saviour

Mid the sins and sorrows here below!

And eternity, how dark without Him

Only night and tears and endless woe!

What though I might live without the Saviour,

When I come to die, how would it be?

O to face the valley's gloom without Him!

And without Him all eternity!

66.1. Is your life a channel of blessing?

Is the love of God flowing thro' you?

Are you telling the lost of the Saviour?

Are you ready His service to do?

Make me a channel of blessing today;

Make me a channel of blessing, I pray;

My life possessing, my service blessing,

Make me a channel of blessing today.

2. Is your life a channel of blessing?

Are you burdened for those who are lost?

Have you urged upon those who are straying

The Saviour who died on the cross?

3. Is your life a channel of blessing?

Is it daily telling for Him?

Have you spoken the word of salvation

1. Dying with Jesus, by death reckoned mine,

Living with Jesus a new life divine,

Looking to Jesus 'till glory doth shine,

Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine.

Moment by moment I'm kept in His love

Moment by moment I've life from above;

Looking to Jesus 'til glory doth shine,

Moment by moment, O Lord, I am Thine

2. Never a trial that He is not there,

Never a burden that He doth not bear,

Never a sorrow that He doth not share,

Moment by moment, I'm under His care.

3. Never a heartache and never a groan,

Never a tear-drop and never a moan;

Never a danger, but there on the throne,

Moment by moment, He thinks of His own.

4. Never a weakness that He doth not feel,

Never a sickness that He cannot heal;

Moment by moment, in woe or in weal,

Jesus, my Saviour abides with me still.

1. Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,

Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!

Yonder on Calvary's mount out-poured

There where the blood of the Lamb was spilt.

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;

Grace, grace, God's grace,

Grace that is greater than all our sins!

2. Sin and despair, like the sea-waves cold,

Threaten the soul with infinite loss:

Grace that is greater yes, grace untold

Points to the Refuge, the mighty Cross.

3. Dark is the stain that we cannot hide,

What can avail to wash it away?

Look! There is flowing a crimson tide

Whiter than snow you may be today.

4. Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace.

Freely bestowed on all who believe!

You that are longing to see His face,

Will you this moment His grace receive?

1. Far dearer than all that the world can impart

Was the message that came to my heart;

How that Jesus alone for my sin did atone,

And Calvary covers it all.

Calvary covers it all,

My past with its sin and stain;

My guilt and despair Jesus took on Him there,

And Calvary covers it all.

2. The stripes that He bore and the thorns that He wore

Told His mercy and love evermore;

And my heart bowed in shame as I called on His name,

And Calvary covers it all.

3. How matchless the grace, when I looked in the face

Of this Jesus, my crucified Lord;

My redemption complete I then found at His feet,

And Calvary covers it all.

4. How blessed the thought, that my soul by Him bought,

Shall be His in the glory on high,

Where with gladness and song I'll be one of the

throng,

74.1. Life was shattered and hope was gone

Crushing the load that I bore;

Then out of the depths I cried, “O God,

Give me something worth living for.”

Something more than my yesterdays,

More than I had before,

Something more than wealth or fame-

He gave me something worth living for.

2. There, with life at its lowest ebb,

Who could heal and restore?

Then He came and mended my broken heart-

He gave me something worth living for.

Nothing's the same as before;

My life overflows since Jesus came

1. Make me a captive, Lord,And then I shall be free;Force me to render up my sword, And I shall conqueror be.I sink in life's alarmsWhen by myself I stand;Imprison me within Thine arms, And strong shall be my hand.

2. My heart is weak and poorUntil its Master find;It has no spring of action sure, It varies with the wind. It cannot freely moveTill Thou hast wrought its chain;Enslave it with Thy matchless love, And deathless it shall reign.

3. My will is not my own Till Thou hast made it Thine;If it would reach a monarch's throneIt must its crown resign;It only stands unbentAmid the clashing strife,When on Thy bosom it has leant And found in Thee its life. A-men.

99.1. I hear the Saviour say,

“Thy strength indeed is small!

Child of weakness watch and pray,

Find in me thine all in all.”

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe;

Sin had left a crimson stain

He washed it white as snow.

2. Lord, now indeed I find

Thy pow'r and Thine alone

Can change the leper's spots

And melt the heart of stone.

3. For nothing good have I

Whereby Thy grace to claim

I will wash my garments white

In the blood of Calvary's Lamb.

4. And when before the throne

I stand in Him complete,

“Jesus died my soul to save,”

My lips shall still repeat.

1. O I want to be like Jesus

As I walk along this pilgrim way;

O I want to live like Jesus,

Showing forth His beauty every day.

This my prayer and deepest longing

To be pure without, within;

O I want to be like Jesus,

Cleansed from dross and free from self and sin.

2. O I want to talk like Jesus,

Gracious are the words from Him we hear:

Words of life and hope for sinners,

Tender, healing words of love and cheer.

O the power and the value

Of a fitly spoken word!

O I want to talk like Jesus

Any time or place my voice is heard.

3. O I want to serve like Jesus,

Willingly He came from heaven above;

On the earth He lived for others,

Spent His life in kindly deeds of love.

I would follow where He leads me

And His biding always do;

O I want to serve like Jesus

Till my traveling days on earth are through.

101.1. In the Image of God we were made long ago

With the purpose divine, here His glory to show;

But we failed Him one day and like sheep went astray

Thinking not of the cost, We His likeness had lost.

But from eternity God had in mind the work of Calvary

The lost to find; From His heaven so broad,

Christ came down earth to trod

So that men might live again in the Image of God!

2. Now that I have believed and the Saviour received,

Now that I from the cry of my guilt am relieved,

I will live for my Lord, Not for gain or reward,

But for love thinking of what His grace has restored!

I'll never comprehend redemption's plan

How Christ could condescend to die for man;

Such a Saviour I'll praise to the end of my days,

As I up-ward, on-ward trod in the Image of God!

May love flow out thro' me,That those whom Thou shalt lead my way May too find life in Thee.

1. O Lord, I give myself to Thee, And all that I possess; I lay aside my sinful pride And claim Thy righteousness.My will lies shattered at Thy feet, I pray Thy will be done,My only plea to live for Thee And magnify Thy Son.

May Christ be seen in me, O Lord, Hear Thou my earnest plea;O take me, fill me, use me, Lord, Till Christ be seen in me.

2. O may I count all gain but loss, Save as to Thee 'tis gain;Let me not shun the promised cross Nor shirk to suffer pain.Then lead me, Lord, up Calvary's hill, Forth to the cross with Thee,And there pour out my life with God, As Thou didst Lord for me.

3. O humbly may I serve Thee, Lord, As in Thy will I tread;And may I live anew in Christ, As risen from the dead. Then closely walking by Thy side,

He'll always be with us, if we do our part,

There's naught in this wide world can pleasure afford,

There's peace and contentment in serving the Lord.

I'll love Him far better than in days of youth

I'll serve Him more truly than ever before,

I'll do as He bids me whatever the cost,

I'll be a true soldier, I'll die at my post.

2. And often when I'm tempted to turn from the track

I think of my Saviour, my mind wanders back,

To the cross where they nailed Him on Calvary's tree

I hear a voice saying, “I suffered for thee,”

3. A place I remember where I was set free,

It’s where I found pardon, a heaven to me,

There Jesus spoke sweetly, to my weary soul,

My sins were forgiven, He made my heart whole.

I WILL CALL UPON THE LORD

4. And when at last, my labour o’er,

Grant, Lord, that on the other shore

And learn what here I cannot know,

Why Thou hast ever loved me so.

1. I would not ask for earthly store

Thou wilt my need supply;

But I would covet, more and more,

The clear and single eye,

To see my duty face to face,

And trust Thee, Lord, for daily grace.

Then shall my heart keep singing,

While to the cross I cling;

For rest is sweet at Jesus feet,

While homeward faith keeps winging,

While homeward faith keeps winging.

2. I care not for the empty show

That thoughtless worldlings see;

But gladly do the best I know,

And leave the rest with Thee;

Well satisfied that sweet reward

Is sure to those who trust the Lord.

3. Whate’er the crosses mine shall be,

I would not dare to shun;

But only ask to live for Thee,

And that Thy will be done;

Thy will, O Lord, be mine each day,

While pressing on my homeward way.

When dim my path may seem;

Soon will the dreary shadows vanish,

And golden sunlight gleam.

4. I am determined to tell the story,

Story of love divine;

So that in hearts now dark and dreary

Light, gospel light may shine.

Make me according to your will all anew.

My thoughts according to your will all anew.

My words according to your will all anew.

My deeds according to your will all anew.

2. Save us, Lord. Keep us, Lord.

Guide us according to your will with your hand.

In time of trial, guide us, Lord, with your hand.

In joy and sorrow, guide us, Lord, with your hand.

Lest we forget you, guide us, Lord with your hand.

3. Cleanse us, Lord. Purge us, Lord.

Heal us according to your will by your grace.

From sin and evil, heal us, Lord by your grace.

From pride and envy, heal us, Lord, by your grace.

From guilt and terror, heal us, Lord by your grace.

4. Use us, Lord. Lead us, Lord.

Send us according to your will in your strength.

To those in suffering, send us, Lord, in your strength.

To those in darkness, send us, Lord, in your strength.

To those unheeding, send us, Lord, in your strength

1. All the way my Saviour leads me What have I to ask beside?Can I doubt His tender mercy, Who through life has been my guide?Heavenly peace, divinest comfort, Here by faith in Him to dwell!For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well;For I know, whate’er befall me, Jesus doeth all things well.

2. All the way my Saviour leads me Cheers each winding path I tread.Gives me grace for every trial, Feeds me with the living bread.Though my weary steps may falter And my soul a thirst may be,Gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see;Gushing from the Rock before me, Lo! A spring of joy I see.

In that happy land of spirits, Are there stores of bliss untold, And the angels are awaiting, Where the pearly gates unfold.

1. I have given up all for Jesus, This vain world is naught to me;All its pleasures are forgotten In remembering Calvary.Though my friends despise, forsake me, And on me the world looks cold,I've a Friend that will stand by me When the pearly gates unfold.

Life's morn will soon be waning, And its evening bells be tolled,But my heart will know no sadness When the pearly gates unfold.

2. When the voice of Jesus calls me, And the angels whisper low,I will lean upon my Saviour, Through the valley as I goI will claim His precious promise, Worth to me the world of gold:“Fear no evil, I'll be with thee, When the pearly gates unfold.”

WITHER THAN SNOW...wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Ps. 51:7

Offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life. Romans 6:13

Come now, and within me a new heart create

To those who have sought Thee, Thou never said “No”

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.1. Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole,

I want Thee for ever to live in my soul

Break down every idol, cast out every foe

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow,

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

2. Lord Jesus, let nothing unholy remain

Apply Thine own blood and extract every stain;

To get this blest cleansing I all things forego

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

3. Lord Jesus, took down from Thy throne in the skies,

And help me to make a complete sacrifice;

I give up myself and whatever I know

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow

4. Lord Jesus, for this I most humbly entreat;

I wait, blessed Lord, at Thy crucified feet;

By faith, for my cleansing, I see Thy blood flow

Now wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow

5. Lord Jesus, Thou knowest I patiently wait;

SEARCH ME, O GODSearch me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts. Ps. 139:23.

COME TAKE YOUR THRONE

1. I have prepared my heart for you; O Lord, come take your Throne. x2Nothing must come within my soul, Nothing must break into my thoughts,No one must rise to take your place;O Lord, come take your throne.

2. I have reserved my lifetime for you;O Lord, come take control. X2My life must serve your purpose Lord,Living for you and dying to self,My all I give your will to serve; O Lord, come take control.

3. I have released my whole being to you;O Lord, come take your own x2My heart, my soul and body, Lord!Once and for all and not bit by bit;I lay them all on the altar for you;O Lord, come take your own.

And let my life appearAs seen by Thine all searching eye: To mine my ways make clear.

2. Search all my sense, and know my heart, Who only canst make known;And let the deep, the hidden part To me be fully shown.

3. Throw light into the darkened cells, Where passion reigns within;Quicken my conscience till it feels, The loathsomeness of sin.

4. Search all my thoughts, the secret springs,The motives that control;The chambers where polluted things Hold empire over the soul.

1. As with glad-ness men of oldDid the guid-ing star be-hold;As with joy they hailed its light,Lead-ing on-ward, beam-ing bright;So most gra-cious Lord, may weEv-er-more be led to Thee.

2. As with joy-ous steps they spedTo that low-ly man-ger bed,There to bend the knee be-foreHim whom heav’n and earth a-dore;So may we with will-ing feetEv-er seek Thy mer-cy seat.

3. As they of-fered gifts most rareAt that man-ger rude and bare,So may we with ho-ly joy,Pure and free from sin's al-loy, All our cost-liest treas-ures bring,Christ, to thee, our heaven-ly King.

4. Ho-ly Je-sus, ev-ery dayKeep us in the nar-row way;And when earth-ly things are past,Bring our ran-somed souls at lastWhere they need no star to guide,Where no clouds Thy glo-ry hide.

150.1. God, who touch-est earth with beau-ty,

Make me love-ly too;With thy Spir-it re-cre-ate me,Make my heart a-new.

2. Like thy springs and run-ning wa-ters,Make me crys-tal pure;Like Thy rocks of tower-ing gran-deur,Make me strong and sure.

3. Like Thy shin-ing waves in sun-light,Make me glad and free;Like the straightness of the pine trees,Let me up-right be.

4. Like the arch-ing of the heav-ens,Lift my thoughts a-bove;Turn my dreams to no-ble ac-tion, Min-is-tries of love.

1. How deep the Father's love for usHow vast beyond all measure,That He should give His only SonTo make a wretch His treasureHow great the pain of searing loss-The Father turns His face awayAs wounds which mar the Chosen OneBring many sons to glory.

2. Behold the man upon a crossMy sin upon His shouldersAshamed, I hear my mocking voiceCall out among the scoffersIt was my sin that held Him thereUntil it was accomplishedHis dying breath has brought me lifeI know that it is finished.

3. I will not boast in anythingNo gifts, no power, no wisdomBut I will boast in Jesus Christ,His death and resurrection,Why should I gain from His reward?I cannot give an answerBut this I know with all my heart-His wounds have paid my ransom.

152.1. What can I give to Je-sus,

Though feeble their lays,With true adorationShall lisp to Thy praise.

1. O worship the King, All glorious above,O gratefully sing, His power and His love:Our Shield and Defender,The Ancient of Days,Pavilioned in splendour,And girded with praise.

2. O tell of His might, O sings of His grace,Whose robe is the light, Whose canopy space.His chariots of wrathThe deep thunder-clouds form,And dark is His pathOn the wings of the storm.

3. Thy bountiful care, What tongue can recite?It breathes in the air, It shines in the light,It streams from the hills,It descends to the plain,And sweetly distilsIn the dew and the rain.

4. Frail children of dust, And feeble as frail;In Thee do we trust, Nor find Thee to fail;Thy mercies, how tender,How firm to the end,Our Maker, Defender,Redeemer and Friend!.

5. O measureless Might! Ineffable Love!While angels delight, To hymn Thee above,The humbler creation,

3. Jesus in this world of sin must be enthroned;In spite of hells opposition and wrath.Though Satan in his prison men's heart has chained;Sufficient to save is the Arm of our God.In His strength labour I, while it is day;Seeking through tribes and cultures for souls;Across mountains, valleys, oceans with light:Until Jesus as their king is enthroned.

4. By wishful thought Jesus cannot be enthroned;Neither through comfort, convenience nor dreams.Self knowledge and wisdom cannot enthrone Him:Unless transformed life, abiding in Christ,And deliberate labour bearing the cross,By prayer and fasting, groaning with faith:Satan barriers will surely give way.So is Jesus in our life time enthroned.

5. Though great and mighty be the task before me,Yet fear not I, for my help is the LORD,From my flesh daily oh Lord, deliver me,That I in thy grace and mercy rely;Before thee lay I for thy touch divine;By-pass me not in this glorious labour.Here I am, LORD, ready for thee to use,In my days to enthrone Jesus as King.

1. O how great the burden in God's heart is so deepFor His will and His purpose on earth.Daily His heart groans and weeps bitterly,As many souls dwell in the darkness of sin;Nations perishing without Jesus.How thoughtless to watch, folding our arms;But yet desire God in their lives to rule;We must rise to enthrone Jesus as King.

Go Labour on and be spent for God;With all that we have we must go forth.In pursuit of this one precious goal:Enthroning Jesus in this generation as KingUntil men in righteousness to Him shall bowIn sweet adoration eternally.

2. Why seated though time flies and souls go to hell,Sealing their doom despite the cross?Jesus His glory left and died to save us;Why count the cost to take Jesus to men?What account have you before God to give?Where are the crowns at His feet to lay?This generation daily in sin groans,Needing Jesus to be enthroned as King.

1. Stand up stand up for Jesus,

Lift high His royal banner;

It must not suffer loss;

From vic-t'ry unto vic-t'ry

Till ev-'ry foe is van-quish'd,

And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!

The trumpet call obey;

Forth to the mighty conflict,

In this His glorious day;

Ye that are men now serve Him

Against unnumbered foes;

Let courage rise with danger,

And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!

Stand in His strength alone!

Where duty calls, or danger,

Of its silver and its gold,

TRUST AND OBEYAnd Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24

1. When we walk with the Lord, In the light of His word,What a glory He sheds on our way!While we do His good will, He abides with us still,And with all who will trust and obey.

Trust and obey!, For there's no other wayTo be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, Not a cloud in the skies,But His smile quickly drives it away;Not a doubt nor a fear, Not a sigh nor a tear,Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, Not a sorrow we share,But our toil He doth richly repay;Not a grief nor a loss, Not a frown nor a cross.But is blest if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove, The delights of His love, Until all on the altar we lay;For the favour He shows, And the joy He bestowsAre for them who will trust and obey

5. Then in fellowship sweet, We will sit at His feet,Or we'll walk by His side in the way;What He says we will do, Where He sends we will go,Never fear, only trust and obey.

Take it to the Lord in prayer;

In His arms He'll take and shield thee,

Thou wilt find a solace there.1. What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear;

What a privilege to carry

Ev'rything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,

Oh, what needless pain we bear-

All because we do not carry

Ev'rything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?

Is there trouble anywhere?

We should never be discouraged,

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Can we find a Friend so faithful,

Who will all our sorrows share?

Jesus knows our every weakness

Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden

Cumbered a with load of care?

Precious Saviour, still our refuge,-

Take it to the Lord in prayer,

Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?

1. There's a line that is drawn by rejecting our Lord

Where the call of His spirit is lost,

And you hurry along

With the pleasure mad throng-

Have you counted, have you counted the cost?

Have you counted the cost, if your soul should be lost?

Tho' you gain the whole world for your own?

Even now it may be

that the line you have crossed,

Have you counted, have you counted the cost?

2 You may barter your hope of eternity's morn,

For a moment of joy at the most,

For the glitter of sin

And the things it will win-

Have you counted, have you counted the cost?

3 While the door of His mercy is open to you,

Ere the depth of His love you exhaust,

Won't you come and be healed,

Won't you whisper, I yield-

I have counted, I have counted the cost.

179.1. I heard an old, old story

How Saviour came from glory,How He gave His life on Calvary,To save a wretch like me; I heard about His groaning;Of His precious blood's atoning,Then I repented of my sins, And won the victory.

O victory, in Jesus, My Saviour, forever,He sought me, and bought me, With His redeeming blood;He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due him,He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood.

2. I heard about His healing,Of His cleansing pow'r revealing,How he made the lame to walk againAnd caused the blind to see;And then cried. “Dear Jesus,Come and heal my broken spirit”,And somehow Jesus came and bro't, To me the victory.

3. I heard about a mansionHe has built for me in glory,And I heard about the streets of goldBeyond the crystal sea;About the angels singingAnd the old redemption story;And some sweet day I'll sing up there, The song of victory.

1. Walk ye in Him, all earthly paths forsaking;

He lights the way to pardon from all sin;

He is the way, His promises sustaining;

Walk ye in Him, and feel his pow'r within.

2. Walk ye in Him, His footsteps ever follow;

Where'er they lead, o'er mountain, sea, or sand;

Serve Him today, He knows what waits the morrow,

Walk ye in Him, fulfill his great command.

3. Walk ye in Him, your path will lead to others,

No hands but yours can do His work today;

Go near and far to make all men your brothers,

Walk ye in Him, along the narrow way.

4. Walk ye in Him, ye who would tell the story;

Unlock your heart, receive His promise true;

Then tell the world of Jesus and His glory;

Walk ye in Him, and He will Walk with you.

181.1. Nothing between my soul and my Saviour

Naught of this world's delusive dreams

I have renounced all sinful pleasure

Jesus is mine, there's nothing between

Nothing between, my soul and my Saviour

So that His blessed face may be seen

Nothing preventing the least of His favour

Keep thy way clear! Let nothing between

Must not my heart from Him ever sever

He is my all; there's nothing between.

O GOD, WE ASK FOR STRENGTHThose who in the Lord will renew their strength. Isa. 40:1-31

1. Jesus my Lord to thee I cry:Unless Thou help me I must die;Oh bring Thy free salvation nigh,And take me as I am.

And take me as I am:And take me as I am:My only plea, Christ died for me,Oh take me as I am.

2. Helpless I am and full of guilt:But yet for me Thy blood was spilt,And Thou canst make me what thou wilt,And take me as I am.

3. No preparation can I make:My best resolves I only break;Yet save me for Thine own name's sake,And take me as I am.

4. Behold me, Saviour, at Thy feet:Deal with me as thou seest meet;Thy work begin, Thy work complete,And take me as I am.

183.1. O God, we ask for strength to lead,

A gentle caring life,

To live in modes of peace and love,

In spite of war and strife.

2. O God, we ask for voice to speak

With language kind and true

To never speak a hurtful word

And always speak for you.

3. O God, we ask for grace to hear

Rememb'ring you created them

In holy image free.

1. Thy Kingdom come, O God;Thy rule, o christ, begin;Break with Thine iron rodThe tyrannies of sin.

2. Where is Thy reign of peace,And purity, and love?When shall all hatred cease,As in the realms above?

3. When comes the promised timeThat war shall be no more?And lust, oppression, crime,Shall flee Thy face before?

4. We pray Thee, Lord, arise,And come in Thy great might;Revive our longing eyes,Which languish for Thy sight.

5. Men scorn Thy sacred Name,And wolves devour Thy folds;By many a deeds of shameWe learn that love grows cold.

6. O'er hearthen lands afarThick darkness broodeth yet;Arise, O Morning Star,Arise, and never set.

205.1. I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,

I'd rather have Him than have riches untold,

I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands;

I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hand.

Than to be a king of a vast domain

Or be held in sin's dread way;

I'd rather have Jesus than anything,

this world affords today.

2. I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause

I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;

I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,

I'd rather be true to His holy name.

3. He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom,

He's sweeter than honey from out the comb;

He's all that my hungering spirit needs,

I'd rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

And oft escaped the tempter's snare

By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!

And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!

Engage the waiting soul to bless.

213.1. Will your anchor hold in the storms of life?

When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?

When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,

Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul

Steadfast and sure while the billows roll;

Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,

Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour's love!

2. Will your anchor hold in the straits of fear,

When the breakers roar and the reef is near?

While the surges rave, and the wild winds blow,

Shall the angry waves then your bank o'er flow

3. Will your anchor hold in the floods of death,

When the waters cold chill your latest breath?

On the rising tide, you can never fail,

While your anchor holds within the veil.

Will you anchor safe by the heavenly shore,

1. Buried with Christ and raised with him too.

What is there left for me to do?

Simply to cease from struggling and strive

Simply to walk in newness of life

Buried with Christ and dead unto sin

Dying but living Jesus within

Ruling and reigning day after day

Guiding and keeping all of the way.

2. Risen with Christ my glorious Head

Holiness now in the pathway I tread

Beautiful thought while walking there in

He that is dead is free from all sin.

3. Living with Christ who di-eth no more,

Following Christ who goeth before

Not under law I'm now under grace

Sin is de-throned and Christ takes its place.

215.1. The mercies of God! What a theme for my song

Oh!I never could number them o'er;They are more than the stars in the heavenly dome,Or the sands of the wave beaten shore.

For mercies so great, what return can I make?For mercies so constant and sureI'll love Him, I'll serve Him with all that I have As long as my life shall endure.

2. They greet me at morn when I woken from sleep,And they gladden my heart at the noon;They follow me on into shades of the night,When the day with its labour is done.

3. His angels of mercy encompass me 'round,Wheresoever my pathway may lead;Each turn of the road some new token reveals Oh! For me life is blessed indeed.

4. His goodness and mercy will follow me still,Even unto the end of the way.I have His sure promise and that cannot fail,That His mercy endureth for aye
