Construction UpdateEast segment – City Centre to Renforth

Construction on the east segment of the transitway is well underway and includes nine new stations starting at City Centre Transit Terminal and ending at Renforth Drive, east of Commerce Boulevard. The City of Mississauga is constructing four new stations at Central Parkway, Cawthra, Tomken and Dixie and the connecting transitway. They are expected to open in November 2014. New stations at Tahoe, Etobicoke Creek, Spectrum, and Orbitor are also being constructed by the City and are scheduled to be completed in 2016.

The east segment of the transitway corridor runs approximately 12 kilometres from the City Centre Transit Terminal to Renforth Gateway.

The Renforth Gateway station is being designed and constructed by GO Transit and is scheduled to be completed in 2017. The station will help make travel to Toronto Pearson International Airport and the Bloor-Danforth subway line easier via Highway 427.

West segment – Erin Mills to Winston Churchill

GO Transit is constructing the west segment, which includes new stations at Winston Churchill and Erin Mills. The stations

will include Park N’ Ride lots for more than 300 vehicles at each station, Kiss N’ Ride drop-off lanes and bicycle shelters. The transitway west corridor is a two-lane, bus-only, 1.5 kilometre roadway on the north side of Highway 403.

Construction of the west segment is expected to be completed in 2016.

Mississauga Transitway

When complete, the 18 kilometre transitway will have 12 stations beginning at Winston Churchill Boulevard in the west and ending at Renforth Drive in the east.
