Tips for Writing Journal Papers

• Start planning asap! – Timetable with your supervisors when to work on papers– Think big..!

• What part of your thesis to disseminate? – Results? Theory? Methodology? – Ask yourself what story is most interesting to you

• How to select the right journal – Look at which journals repeatedly appear in your literature review– If you are not yet in the habit of searching articles on your subject matter – you should be!

• Co-authoring & Writing– Typically you would co-author a paper with your supervisors– Do not shut yourself away – involve peers and colleagues A.K.A Networking!
