AWESOME WORK!

I hope school, Key Club, and life goes well for all the Division 4 members out there in the

final weeks before holiday break. During holiday break, I suggest we all take it easy, drink

some tea, eat a cookie, and mentally prep for the oncoming dread of exams.

Take care and talk to you later!

Yours in service,

Katherine Gall,

Reflection on Key Leader

8

On the weekend of November 1 to 3, students from the division attended the

Key Club leadership conference called Key Leaders. Located in Circle Square Ranch in

Brantford, we faced many challenges, but also at the same time, made many new

friends from key club members across the region. It was a fun and enlightening experi-

ence.

As a leadership camp, Key Leaders’ aim was to train students with better leader-

ship skills. However, these are not the traditional sense of leadership with one figure

giving orders. Instead, Key Leaders taught us to become leaders by example, for us to

serve others in order to remind them of the importance to give back to the communi-

ty.

Of course, we didn’t just sit in a classroom all day. Over the course of the 2 days

and 2 nights, we bonded closer with our fellow key club members from other regions.

Through participation in interactive problem solving activities both indoors and out-

doors, we got to meet other students who are just like us, Key Clubbers who enjoy

helping others.

“It was fun, and overall I enjoyed myself. I loved having the chance

to meet up with some old friends, since during the year I don't have

many opportunities to do so.” –Katherine Gall, Lieutenant Governor

of Division 4

"Key Leaders were a great opportunity to meet other key clubbers

from across the region. It was a fantastic experience"- William

Zhang, WOSS Treasurer

Whether you were a student participant, or a facilitator, overall, Key Leaders

was a very enriching experience for everyone that attended. For Grade 9-11, next year,

be sure not to miss out on this great opportunity!
