Cebu-based dnc architects, founded in 2012 started as a small studio practice accepting project appointments from various clients. Working through the profession, dnc architects seeks to create and inventive buildings and interiors while paying close attention to social responsibility and sustainable design and construction practices. As an emerging firm building up a practice, the firm works on small to mid scale projects, driven towards creating an innovative architecture with a strong focus on sustainability, while establishing a sense of character on the projects.

HavingHaving had a working experience of 6 years in the industry and gaining experiences both locally and overseas, as a professional entrusted with works ranging from small scale to large developments, from Project Conceptualization and Coordination to Preparing tender and shopdrawings for construction and supervision, these has equipped the architect with the essential knowledge and experience needed in the practice.

Being based overseas, the architect have been involved on both private and government projects, coordinating on the flow of construction and design, meticulously coordinating with authorities and keeping every aspect of the project on track.

dncdnc architects have been involved with projects such as renovations, interior design and layout, residential, commercial and office, condominium building designs. dnc architects design concepts are primarily based on contemporary and modern approaches, driven towards the aspects of sustainability and green building.

Initially perceived as Holland Residences, this 25 storey residential condominium has a 6 storey podium dedicated to parking and amenities such as commercial spaces, gym and infinity pool for tenants and a 19 storey residential units. With rooms ranging from studio units to 3- bedroom units.

WhatWhat sets apart the development from its type is that, it features several sky gardens and terraces strategically located in several floor levels and a green wall feature all throughout the building, promoting sustainability in the development. Each floor levels are naturally ventilated, with the design and layout per level treated to address the tropical conditions of the region.

ThisThis modern high-rise development is for those who appreciate the sublime sophistication of design and refined aesthetics. Combining tasteful, trend-setting design with architectural features enhance the living environment, textures that creates distinct yet contemporary imagery.

PROJECT BRIEF

From an existing 2 storey residence, an expanding family initiates to totally make an overhaul out of the existing residence to cater on the increasing needs of the family. The renovation shall make use of the existing layout and components.

An additional third and roof deck level are envisioned to accomodate additional bedrooms and activity area for the whole family on the deck level.

ThisThis three-storey house offers a new sustainable residential typology for houses acclimatized to the tropical climate of the region. The architecture is driven by the principles of passive design and energy efficient systems that help to achieve an ideal indoor environment.

Building planning and fenestration design is conceptualized to encourage natural ventilation and cross ventilation. A central stairwell enables a stack effect similar to that of a traditional air-well, allowing more draft to circulate within the house.

PROJECT BRIEF

The proposed 2 storey structure, intended to be a retirement home was envisioned to embody a place to relax and after years of hardwork. Upon entering the residence, one is greeted by a flank of terraced gardens along the covered footpath. The whole residence is designed to have a barrier-free access. And a wide circulation spaces enough to cater to the needs of the handicapped. With guests rooms on the second storey.

TheThe residence has a a series of void spaces on its living and dining spaces, this will offer the house high ceiling and lessen cramped indoor spaces, this will further enhance indor air circulation in a tropical climate.

A high profile client intends to convert their condo unit as a place to accomodate for their business guests and partners when visiting the city. Having a total area of 52.87 sqm, the client wanted to create a hotel suite environment yet spacious and elegant and having only one AC unit to cater for the whole unit.

WithWith these design requirements, the design approach was to choose a subtle and restful designs for the project. Natural materials such as woods and neutral tones are recommended for alleviating fatigue, to create a homy and comfortable environment. An open plan scheme, with no doors and shelving partitions were favorable to cater the requirements, maximizing storage capacity of the unit along the walls for luggage and personal items.
