What is the “twisted timeline”?
* Each index card has a quote from the story representing a key moment.
• You must arrange the index cards in the correct order according to when the events occur in the story.
• Some of the index cards contain fake, incorrect, or erroneous events.
What is the “twisted timeline”?
If you have an incorrect index card, flip it over and write a “corrected” paraphrase of an event and place it in the correct order in relation to the other cards.
In addition . . . Focus Questions
1) One to two group members need to answer
the focus questions.
2) Write a 2-3 sentence response for each question.
What you have to do (10 min)
• 3-4 group members work on “correcting the timeline” – put the cards in the proper order. Make sure to rewrite incorrect events.
• 1- 2 members should answer the following focus questions:
• A) How is Yolanda’s transformation as a character connected to our understanding of when she experiences events in the story?
• B) How would you justify Yolanda’s experience being unique or typical in today’s society?
SHARE OUT
1) Each group share out their timelines and their
answers to the focus question.
2) Respond to each other’s answers – do you agree or disagree, why?
