TO 30 YEARS OF ITS DEBUT, IT RETURNS “NO+” A CHILEAN STAGING
From 2013 version of “No +”, A contemporary mime drama by Raúl Osorio a Chilean dramatist and Ricardo Gaete, a young contemporary mime, directed the performance of the “EscenaFísica Corporeal Mime Theatre Company.
R. Gaete studied and trained in France, Argentina, England, and Italy with artists like Marcel Marceau, Angel Elizondo, Steven Wassan and Corinne Soum and Ives Lebreton among others.
“No + “ performance by Raúl Osorio, makes his debut in a period of time in which the human and inhuman actions left marks in some and in others, causes an affliction that continues as a wound too much difficult to heal. The performance by Ricardo Gaete makes the audience to face their past, which prohibited people to talk. It is a play of the unspeakable, not only in the artistic but also in the social context.

For its topic and nature, The play “No+” was performed in alternatives stages (Churches and Houses in popular areas) a sequence of actions and scenes that are components of the play that has not an oral text however, the audience felt identified with it because they connected the play with what was happening in the country (Chile). After a year of performances, the dramatist and director Rául Osorio performed the play in New York, Mexico, Italy, Germany, and Peru. Three musicians were included in the performance.
Nowadays, to 30 years of its debut, “No+” comes to the national stage directed by Ricardo Gaete, in the Chilean National Theater (TNCH)

STAGING PERFORMANCE
“No +” The play is developed through a current of scenes and actions that lacks of adjectives. It asks for a pure action, which the actors are creating from the drama of Rául Osorio and the direction of Ricardo Gaete. The performance based in the physical dimension of the Dramatic Corporal Mime. The sequence of actions and micro –actions lead to the actors to find and to incorporate the biological impulse that give strength to the play.
The aesthetic of the stage setting and the drama utility generates a pure framework of white lines, which play with perspective, creating a surrealist setting. The Clothing designed to achieve uniformity of the common people, clerks, or students of any educational institution at any time. These characters are different to the clean tailoring suits of the tutor. Sometimes, the sound world increases and contrasts the development of the plot. It allows the dramatic progression among scenes.
“NO+”, in its new debut, it is an act of justice and an artistic and social restore, necessary to disclose one of the several censored manifestation to the audience and Chilean people during the military dictatorship.
PLAYWRIGHT
Raúl Osorio draws an imaginary line in his own background – “dreams about theater”- The interchange with his professors or trainers – Tutoring angels of his learning and the present time. Nois, the way we, his students, called Enrique Nois Vander, is one of these angels.
The play ”No+” was created in the context of a research that was focused in two dimensions: To collect the information of the origin and development of the pantomime in Chile and at the same time to live an experience of research-creation based in the methodological and technical principles, which were applied for years in the courses of pantomime. It took place in the school of theater, at the Catholic University of Chile. Something important that we collect as useful information was the extensive conversations with Enrique Nois Vander and Jaime Schneider.

Abroad, I study corporal Mime art (created by Decroux) being a learner of his followers like, Corinne Soum, Steven Wasson in England, Ives Lebreton in Italy and “my father” in this art, Angel Elizondo.
After a decade, I started with my own students and collaborators, to start the basis in Chile, of Physical staging, the f i rst school , and company of contemporary Mime drama and corporal theater in South America, in the transmission and creation based in the philosophical and technical approach of Etienne Decroux.
“No+” is my first debut in Chile as a dramatist director, without being in the stage as an actor. Today, this performance introduces the way by which we share the vital complicity of the audience.

Based in the dramatic corporal mime Etienne Decroux and my own view of a “another staging art” which gives the real meaning to the body as a matter of creation and a body- vocal expression of a corporal or mime actor. This is a recovering of the unusual writing in the Chilean drama. Transcendental and artistic value based in the social and political context where the events happened
The play “No+” by Rául Osorio motivates a new version, which in its debut starts its own existence with the audience.
In our country and the world there, were-will is other “Nods.” It is a universal staging with an aesthetic approach. There is an abbreviation of the existing staging, in the original drama and the incorporation of others. It includes the actions and micro- actions of this play.
The new debut and version of ”No+” to the national staging, means the return of a Mime whose Chilean tradition started by Alejandro Jodorosky, Enrique Noisvander, Jaime Schneider and Pachi Torreblanca, who were the first in this art inside the country and South America.

“No+” sets up the situation “tyrant – Oppressor,” based on the relationship between a tutor and his students. The increasing level of tension is higher in the undergoing of the scenes. While the students try to finish with their condition of being oppressors, the tutor tries to look for new ways to confirm his dominant position to keep the control and the power.
