The Delhi Public School Society was established in
1949. The first school, later known as DPS Mathura
Road, operated from the President's Estate at New
Delhi.
The Society has established Schools across India and
spread in various countries of the world, thus making it
one of the largest chains of schools.
Apart from our recently established DPS Expressway,
GBN, there are nearly 140 Delhi Public Schools around
the world.

It is a matter of great pride for us to provide
education to the young minds of the growing
metropolis of Noida, NCR. We are sure that
keeping in the true tradition of a Delhi Public

After his education at Cambridge University, Mr. Ravi
Vira Gupta joined the Indian Administrative Services in
1962. During his service Mr. Gupta was associated with
various aspects relating to Cooperatives as well as
agriculture. He was Registrar of Cooperatives as well as
Managing Director of National Cooperative
Development Corperation. He was the Managing
Director of the MP Federation of Dairy Cooperatives.
He was very closely associated with the economic
reforms at the level of Additional Secretary and
Secretary in the Government of India in the Ministries
of Fertilizer, Food and Finance.
As Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India, he
was associated with many committees and a particular
mention needs to be made as regards to the Reserve
Bank Committee on agriculture credit.
Mr. Gupta is actively associated with educational and
cultural organizations.
A postgraduate in Mathematics from the University of
Allahabad, Mr. Ashok Chandra joined the Indian
Administrative Service in 1959. He served in various
capacities, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, as Secretary in
The Department of Industries and as Chairman of the
State Jal Nigam.
He has also served as Additional Secretary and
Secretary in the Department of Company Affairs.
Mr. Ashok Chandra served the Government of India as
Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industry,
Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Information
and Broadcasting and the Department of Heavy
Industry. He was Advisor to the Governor of Uttar
Pradesh, India and also Advisor to the Government of
Afghanistan.
He is a Trustee of Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society which
runs the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi.
Under the wings of Mr. Ashok Chandra, Chairman DPS
Society, DPS will continue to achieve greater heights.
Mr. Vineet Nayyar is the Executive Vice Chairman, Tech
Mahindra. An accomplished leader, Mr. Nayyar has led
several organizations across industries creating high
performing teams and successful businesses. He has a
rich and varied experience having worked with the
government, International Multilateral Agencies and
the Corporate Sector both Public and Private that spans
over 40 years.
Mr. Nayyar holds a Master's degree in Development
Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts and
started his career with the Indian Administrative
Service in 1961. While in the Government, he held
series of senior positions including that of a District
Magistrate, Secretary, Agriculture & Rural
Development, Government of Haryana and Director,
Department of Economic Affairs, Government of India.
Mr. Nayyar worked with The World Bank for over 10
years in a series of senior assignments, including
successively being the Chief for the Energy,
Infrastructure and the Finance Divisions for East Asia
and Pacific.
In the Corporate sector, Mr. Nayyar was the founding of
the state owned Gas Authority of India. In the Private
Sector, he served as the Managing Director of HCL Corp.
and as the Vice Chairman of HCL Technologies. He was
also the founder and CEO of HCL Perot Systems.
Mr. Nayyar is Director on the Boards of Great Eastern
Shipping, Kotak Life Insurance, The Mahindra United
World College of India, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts
India Ltd. and MD Tech Mahindra Foundation.
A seasoned professional with 23 years of rich
experience in teaching, Examination Coordination and
managing School Administration, Mrs. Indira Kohli has
worked with various Delhi Public Schools.
An M.A. in Political Science and a Law Graduate, she
served as Principal (In-charge) and Founder Head
Mistress of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok and
Examination In-charge in Delhi Public School, Vasant
Kunj. She has a hands-on experience and skills in
developing curriculum to accommodate different
learning styles.
Mrs. Kohli has a rich experience of facilitating/
coaching students by using interactive discussions and
leadership approach to help students learn and apply
concepts in subjects.
She has demonstrated proficiency in developing all
aspects of a 'start up school' including facilities,
infrastructure, staffing, welfare, discipline and all
policy development and implementation. She is a
dedicated and self motivated leader with proficiency
in handling the administrative activities entailing
management, faculty appraisal/training and
upholding of the institutions motto.
She brings to the school her leadership, commitment,
mentoring, guiding and enhancing teachers/ students

The Environment
Structure of the art classrooms, laboratories, activity
rooms etc. are designed for greater efficiency and to
protect children from air and noise pollution. To
overcome the problem of heavy bags being carried by
students, the school provides open shelves (pigeon
holes) to each student within the classroom. A teacher
student ratio of 1:17 ensures individual attention to
the students. The students are encouraged and guided
to develop their analytical and problem solving skills.
Special tutorial/remedial teaching, both during and
after school hours are arranged according to the need
of each child.
An air-conditioned, fully equipped Medical Center has
been provided with trained medical professionals on
duty, all through the school hours. An ambulance
service is also available as a tie-up with the nearest
nursing home for emergencies
Student's health is regularly monitored by the team of
doctors and nurses in our Medical Centre. For
emergencies, our well-equipped ambulances with

Transport
The school owns a fleet of buses carrying highly

Supreme Court. A GPS wireless system is followed round the clock
for tracking of the buses. In case of any
delay or mishap, a message will be flashed to the
school which informs the parents and a relief bus is
sent, if necessary.

Learning by Doing Pre-School + Preparatory
Pre-School + Preparatory
The Pre-Primary stage is the foundation of every
child's basic education. At this stage, the child is
introduced to the basic skills of learning through the
Play-Way method. The subjects taught will be English
and Number Work. Hindi is introduced in the
Kindergarten section. Environment awareness will be
g i ve n t h ro u g h d i s c u s s i o n , p ro j e c t wo r k
,
demonstrations and excursions. A lot of emphasis is
given on the Creative Arts and Physical Education. st
They will be introduced to a unique, 21 century, fully
computerized Multi-Media Edutainment Centre.
Pre-School section is the hub of activities with specially
designed Activity Rooms. The activity room is stocked
with Educational Play Systems, Toys and Games that
help the little children to enhance their cognitive,
problem solving, motor and muscular skills. There is a
Performing Arts Room with a mini stage to train
students for public performance & develop confidence
before an audience thus getting over stage hesitation.

Interactive smartboards are used in DPS Expressway,
GBN as replacement for traditional whiteboards or
flipcharts. They provide ways to show students
anything which can be presented on a computer
screen (educational software, web sites etc.). In
addition, interactive whiteboards allow teachers to
record their instructions and post the material for
review by students at a later stage. This can be a very
effective instructional strategy for students who
benefit from repetition, who need to see the material
presented again, for students who are absent from
school, for struggling learners and for review of
examinations.
The boards allow us to create video files to teach
software applications or as a review to be posted to the
server or web for e.g., to create interest in geography
in the students, they can be used to teach and illustrate
continents, oceans, countries or state capitals, to use
the record feature to narrate a Text, for diagramming
activities and electronic World War.

Middle School: VI to IX

Morning Assembly/Special Assemblies
The morning assembly is conducted by each class on a
daily rotation. These class assemblies give each
student an opportunity to participate. This develops
their oratory skills and confidence. Cultural shows are
put up for the Founders Day as well as the Sports Day.
The Annual Art Exhibition, Science Exhibition/Week,
Computer Week, Holiday Home Work Display will give
every student a platform to exhibit his or her excelled
work.
The House System (School Houses)
To develop leadership and artistic skills and to provide
adequate care to the students, the School has six
houses namely Ganges, Ravi, Satluj, Chenab, Yamuna
and Jhelum and all students are grouped in one of
them. A Captain and a Vice-Captain for each house are
elected through a democratic procedure. They are
assisted by two authorities in the Primary section who
are nominated by the Primary faculty members. This
grouping fosters a vertical integration in the School
and gives students a feeling of belonging and sharing,
healthy competition and team spirit among the
houses develop through Inter-house games, sports,
debates, dramatics, music, quizzes and other co-
curricular activities.

Special Hindi language Course (SHLC)/Graded Hindi
Pupils who do not have Hindi as mother tongue or
those who have not studied Hindi earlier (wards of
NRIs), are offered a 'Special Hindi' or graded Hindi
course and are gradually trained to come up to the
required level.
Workshops
Seminars and workshops will be organized from time
to time, both for the students as well as teaching staff.
Children will learn various skills such as pottery, waste
management, public speaking etc. Teaching faculty
