Set of Basic Training Kitchens to impart practical knowledge for the first year students. Second year students are taught to cook in quantity the various menus in the Quantity Training Kitchen.

The Institute has also set up Advanced Training Kitchen to introduce final year students to international cuisines.

The Institute has a Training Restaurant -' Spice I'. It has been set up to impart hands-on training to the students in the food and beverage service area. A spacious front office laboratory is developed to the specifications of the hotel industry. Simulation of real hotel situations are created for the exposure of the students. The students acquire skills to receive guests and to communicate with them.

Well- equipped model guest rooms are used to train the students in basic Housekeeping skills. The guest rooms are designed with facilities which are at par with a five star hotel.

Linen & Uniform

RoomThis facility has been created for the storage of linen required for the institute. It provides training regarding storing and issuing of linen and uniform and various allied activities like mending, monogramming etc.

The institute has made available to its students a vast resource of knowledge through various volumes. The library houses a comprehensive collection of both Indian & foreign periodicals and journals. 1. The Students should be regular and punctual in attending the classes, practicals, tutorials, submission of term work, and projects.

2. The students must carry the identity card issued by the institute and signed by the Principal at all times and produce the same at the entrance of the institute or as and when demanded by the institute authorities. Entry may be prohibited in case the student fails to do so.

3. A minimum of 75% attendance in each subject theory and practical is prescribed by the University, failing which the student's term will not be granted and he / she will be barred from the examination.

4. A student will be refused admission to theory or practical classes if he/she is not in the prescribed uniform, not carrying the required journal, toolkit or the institute Identity card. Attendance for the day will not be granted in such a case.

5. In case a student is required to remain absent for some reason, prior written permission should be taken from the Principal.

6. Students must attend all social and national events organized by the institute such as 26th January, 15th August and all other declared social events.

7. Students must attend in the prescribed uniform all theory and practical classes, all official visits and excursions, demonstrations, guest lectures, outdoor and indoor catering functions arranged by the institute.

8. Students will undertake the prescribed training by way of out door catering (ODC) arranged through the training & placement cell of the Institute. No students will undertake private ODC or catering orders without prior permission of the Principal. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against students indulging in such practice.

9. Smoking, consumption of alcohol, gutkha & drugs is strictly prohibited in the premises of the institute & hostel.

10. Use of cell phone in the institute premises is strictly prohibited.

11. Ragging of students in any form within or outside the institute & hostel is strictly prohibited. Defaulters will face stern action as per anti ragging rules of the Government.

12. Provision in respect of Anti-Ragging Act and Anti-Capitaiton Fee Act made. Related information is made available on institute website.

13. Grievance Redressal Committee appointed by The Chancellor, University of Pune. Related information is made available on institute website.

14. As per directives from Hon. Supreme Court (Vishakha Judgement) women’s grievance redressal committee has been formed in the institute. Related information is made available on institute website.

15. Students causing intentional damage to the institute's property, will face stern disciplinary action & will have to bear monetary compensation for the same.

16. Students are instructed to wear helmets while driving two wheelers.

Rules & Regulations 17. Students found indulging in anti national activities contrary to the provision of the acts & laws enforced by the

government are liable to be expelled from the institute without any notice by the Principal of the institute.

18. A student shall not go to press or any other public media without the permission of the Principal.

19. In case of prolonged absenteeism or lack of satisfactory academic progress, a candidate may be advised by the Principal to leave the course & his guardian informed accordingly.

20. No student will be permitted to appear for the University Examinations until & unless all formalities of attendance, submission of journals, projects & payment of all dues such as tuition fees and fine has been settled.

21. Failed students will be allowed to appear for the examination as per the rules laid down by the University of Pune.

22. Student is expected to read the notices issued by the institute from time to time, ignornce will be no excuse.

23. Student vehicles should be parked only in the area provided for the purpose.The institute accepts no responsibility for their safe custody. Vehicle parked elsewhere may be confiscated.

24. Students are advised not to carry expensive gadgets, excessive cash and wear heavy gold jewellery. The institute is not responsible for any loss incurred by the student.

25. It will be entirely the responsibility of the parents / guardian to keep themselves closely in touch with the academic progress & attendance of their ward.

26. Any change in the residential address of the student must be intimated in writing to the institute office immediately.

27. Lunch provided in the institute for the student is not a statutory obligation on part of the institute. Students are required to accept whatever is offered as training food.

28. If any of the statement made in the application form or any information supplied by the student in connection with his / her admission is found to be false, his / her admission will be cancelled, fees will be forfeited and he/ she will be expelled from the institute & prosecuted as per rules of Government if necessary.

29. Student will abide by the rules & regulations framed by the institute from time to time.

Co - Curricular ActivitiesIndustrial Visits / Tours: In order to enhance students' skills and abilities, practical exposure is provided through field visits, study tours, etc. These will help the students to come in direct contact with the people working in the industry and get proper perspective of the various activities and the problems faced in the ' industry.

Guest Lectures & Workshop : Guest Lectures & workshop are held regularly by inviting corporate leaders, top executives, Exe. Chef, Exe. H. k, F & B Mgr anc academicians to enhance the knowledge of the students. The main purpose of such seminars is to continuously interact with the practicing executives.

Annual Food Festival: An event organized by the students of IHMCT, it serves as a platform for the young students to put their managerial skills into action. It is an event which features numerous activities such as menu planning, food preparation, service, decor, inviting anc receiving guests, arranging cultural activities and much more.

Intercollegiate Events: The institute encourages students to take part in various intercollegiate event organized by different institutes in Pune. The participation and eventual achievements are appreciated.

Industry-Institution Interaction: This is one of the core strengths of the Institute. Continuous interaction takes place through various forums such as meetings of academic advisors, industry mentors, industry visits and study, guest talks, industry seminars, etc.
