Types of drawing (review):• Blind contour: drawing without looking at the

page. Very careful hand/eye co-ordination is important here.

• Linear contour drawing: working with line only to describe the object.

Page 8: Drawing review

• Tonal (value) drawing: using shades of graphite to distinguish lights, mediums & darks.

• Expressive non-objective drawing: using an expressive line, a kind of energy is included in the drawing.

• Artist’s drawing: a rendering using line, tone and expressive marks to convey the subject in an interesting & visually effective manner.
