Summer Reading Student Name: _____________________________________ Lexile Score: ______________ The OMS Summer Reading Program is an opportunity for students to earn attendance at a school party and 20 extra points to be used during the first grading period. The 20 extra points and attendance at the party are earned when a student reads one of the specified course novels and scores at least a 70% on the corresponding Accelerated Reader (AR) test during the first week of school. The extra points may be applied to any test grade or homework grade where the student scores less than 100% during the first grading period! This is a no risk program that is designed to encourage students to read during the summer To participate in this program, match your Lexile score listed above to the appropriate range and select ONE (1) book to read prior to the first day of school. Answer: You cannot have holes above the knee. Question: What is the appropriate length for shorts or dresses? Answer: They should not be shorter than a credit card in length above the middle of the kneecap. Question: Are students allowed to wear joggers? Answer: No, students are not allowed to wear elastic-waisted garments (joggers, athletic shorts, sweats, etc.). Drawstring pants or shorts are not allowed. Question: Can students wear tights or leggings? Answer: Tights or leggings CANNOT be worn independently. Students may wear the tights or leggings underneath an appropriate top or dress. Tops and dresses must pass the length rule as described above. *These FAQs are a snapshot for summer shopping questions.
