Filter Skids

Norsk Hydro has installed a new Siemens gas turbine on Oseberg Øst. The blades of the turbine have to be washed regularly. The water for this cleaning is supplied from shore and can contain particles, colour, and minerals. To meet Siemens requirements, the cleaning water had to be treated, and the solution was a skid with three filters mounted in series.The first stage removes particles and the second stage is a carbon filter reducing organic content and chlorine. The third stage is a specially designed bag filter with a demineralisation cartridge (mixed bed) reducing the contents of dissolved ions (TDS). This solution has no moving parts to be maintained. No chemicals are involved in the process and the only follow up is regular change of cartridges.

Mixers and Agitators

For the unmanned Tambar-platform we have supplied a filter skid for filtration of seawater. The capacity of this plant is 275 m3/h. Materials for filter housing and piping are 6MO and Titan respectively.

Kenics Static Mixers are in-line Process UnitsAll Kenics® KM-series mixers have patented helical mixing elements which control the liquid flow radially against the pipe wall and back to the centre of the pipe. By alternating with left and right twisted elements repeated speed changes and splitting of the flow are achieved which increases mixing. The liquid flow is continuously and thoroughly mixed and radial gradients in temperature, speed, and composition are eliminated.

UV Disinfection of Drinking Water

Alfsen og Gunderson has supplied offshore installations with plants for treatment of drinking water for a number of years. Our UVInstitute of Public Health (FHI) according to the new biodocimetrical standard for UV40 mJ/cm². This implies that both sporogenous bacteria, virus, and parasites will be inactivated when using our AQUAFIDES UV

Systems designed according to guidelines from FHIFHI requires that UV-sterilizers should be designed for the worst possible water quality regarding turbidity and colour. We can deliver filters to control turbidity, and our UVsterilizers have been biodosimetric tested for the highest acceptable colour value in Norwegian drinking waters.

Highly Efficient UV-lampsLow pressure UV-lamps which are very energy efficient are employed. Operating costs are kept low, and in addition there is little need for maintenance and cleaning by utilising this type of lamps.
