What a busy couple of weeks coming up with our sporting successes. We have two teams who have been successful in competing their way to the NSW PSSA Finals. Book Week is being celebrated this week. A big thank you to Mrs Susan Buttrey for her organisation of activities. The children have enjoyed a craft afternoon, trivia and a dress up day this Thursday. Please come along and watch the display which will be held in the hall. It would be lovely to see you there.

Stage 1 Excursion to Wambangalang We started by getting onto a bus to travel to Wambangalang. We then split into three groups and did different activities. We had to put our hand into mystery buckets to match the eggs with the animal. There were six different things—Thorin and Emaline only missed one that was very tricky; we got mixed up between a leaf insect and a peppercorn tree seed. The other activities were planting beans in newspaper which we were able to bring to school and watch them grow. They will be treated differently; one with fertiliser, no sunlight and others with no water. It will be interesting to see what happens. Our last activity was bug catching in a dam. There were a few different types of bugs which we had to identify. Thorin Ward and Emaline Pengilley 2L

Lost Property As you can see our lost property is full to overflowing. Most of this clothing has no label or names. To ensure that your child’s clothing is returned to them please ensure you label all clothing, hats and drink bottles.

Our tissue supply has been hugely depleted after all the winter colds. When out shopping please consider

buying one box to help us out! Stage 3 Excursion to Sydney We went to Cableway at Katoomba near the Three Sisters where we went down the steepest railway track in the southern hemisphere. Everybody screamed!! It was fun! We then travelled over the valley to the Three Sisters—we stopped to take photos. Our guide, Adam talked about early settlers and the explorers Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson. The ANZ Stadium was HUGE! WE were able to run through the tunnel into the grounds, like the footballers on the TV. We looked through the dressing rooms, spa and pool area and the communications desk. Our first day in Sydney included a trip to the Quarantine Centre, Manly Beach and the Maritime Museum however, the best part of the day was going up to the top of Sydney Eye Tower. Our final day was awesome! It started with a trip on the Manly Ferry and then a walking tour of the Rocks. This was a very interesting tour where we learnt about the early settlement, where people slept, convicts and how the people lived. Did you know that families shared the same bath water. Dad first, then Mum, then the children from oldest to youngest. The Aquarium was MAD!. We had 3 sharks swim over the top of our heads, the penguins were cute, we saw 5 dugongs and played in the touch pool. We all had a great time! Some of the photos from this trip are on the back page.
