Duets For Me and My Not-So-Musical Mates
Do you want your piano kids to be even more invested in their lessons?... Then you need to tap into the “friend factor”! Positive feedback from peers is one of the best ways to increase motivation. But how do you involve friends who don’t know how to play the piano? With this book!
Duets For Me and My Not-So-Musical Mates is full of music designed to be played by your piano students and their “not-so-musical mates”. Each piece contained in this book is accompanied by a very simple secondo part that can be taught by rote and played along with the music. The pieces in this book can also stand alone as enjoyable solos. We have included a This Is For You Buddy page for each piece with simple instructions for the “not-so-musical mates”.
Thinking of hosting a Grandparent Participation Day in your studio... or maybe a Bring a Friend Lesson? Here’s your planning, done! Wanting to involve family members in your recital? Voila… a super-simple way to do so!
This book contains multi-leveled pieces to enable you to engage piano students and their friends of all ages and levels, from Early Elementary to Intermediate.
Have fun!Andrea and Trevor
Section 1
Play it Again… And Again… And Again
The five piano duets in Section 1 contain a repeating buddy part. This means that the “not-so-musical mates” repeat their piano part over and over from the beginning of the piece to the end.
The This Is For You Buddy page replaces the traditional secondo part that is normally found in piano duets. Your piano students can use this page to teach their “not-so-musical mates” the secondo part.
