For the second consecuve night, St. Lucie struck first with two runs in the third. Dunedin tried to mount a comeback in the boom of the ninth when Chrisan Williams drove in a run but it was RHP Blake Taylor who picked up the save and secured the win for RHP Tony Dibrell (5.1 Inn, 5 H, 6 SO). LHP Nick Allgeyer pitched six innings, and struck out six but failed to pick up the win in a quality oungs. TODAY’S MATCHUP: Aſter a rainout yesterday, the Blue Jays travel to George M. Steinbrenner Field to take on the Tampa Tarpons in game one of a three game set. Dunedin and Tampa are playing for the first of 16 matchups between the two clubs-seven of which are being played at Steinbrenner Field. VIEW FROM THE TOP: The D-Jays come into play today having won six of their last nine and 11 of 18 and sit in first place with a 3.5 game lead over second place Daytona in the FSL North Division Standings. Dunedin checks in with the best winning percentage throughout the Toronto organizaon and ed for the second best in the FSL. HOME SWEET HOME...SORTA: Aſter a month filled with 18 official road games and 20 games played outside of the Dunedin/Clearwater area in total, the May schedule features 18 official home games that will be played at Jack Russell Memorial Stadium in Clearwater, FL. Addionally, the schedule includes a six game homestand (5/9-16) and a seven game home swing (5/23-30). TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OPPORTUNITIES: The Blue Jays have delivered in recent games with runner’s on base and in scoring posion. Dang back to last Thursday’s thrashing of the Jupiter Hammerheads, Dunedin is hing .341 with runners in scoring posion in their last eight games. APRIL SUCCESS: The D-Jays finished with 15 wins in the month of April, the most wins in the month since April of 2014 when Dunedin tallied 18 victories. Additonally, Dunedin has never been posioned anywhere lower then first place in the FSL North Division standings through the first month of the 2019 season. DOMINATING ON THE HILL: Dunedin’s pitching staff as a whole has held opponents to three runs or less in 7 of their last 9 games. Overall, the Blue Jays ranked T-2nd lowest in the Florida State League and fiſth in all of affiliated minor league baseball with a 2.61 ERA as a staff. The starters (Pearson, Casllo, Allgeyer, Larkins, Dillon, Spraker) have set the tone in the early porons of games. Guerrero Jr. sparked a ninth inning rally with a leadoff double-his first major league hit of his career. Vlady Jr. became the 233rd Dunedin Blue Jays alum to make it to the Major League level. Guerrero Jr. began the 2019 campaign with Dunedin and played in 48 games overall with the Blue Jays in 2017, producing a slash line of .333/.450/.944, earning an MILB.Com FSL Player of the Month accolade for August. SATURDAY NIGHT IN CLEARWATER: Dunedin fell by the 2-1 final to the St. Lucie Mets in game two of the three game series. For the second consecutive night, St. Lucie struck first with two runs in the third. Dunedin tried to mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth when Christian Williams drove in a run but it was RHP Blake Taylor who picked up the save and secured the win for RHP Tony Dibrell (5.1 Inn, 5 H, 6 SO). LHP Nick Allgeyer pitched six innings, and struck out six but failed to pick up the win in a quality outings.

LAST APP: Dunedin fell to the Daytona Tortugas in game one of the three game set last night by the final of 8-7. Daytona took the lead early with a run in the third, but the Blue Jays stormed back with six runs scored in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by Cullen Large three run double. Daytona swiftly answered with six unanswered runs over the next two innings to regain the lead at 7-6. Cal Stevenson stepped up in the bottom of the seventh and smacked a homerun over the wall in left to tie the game at seven all. In the top of the ninth, Jose Garcia came through in the clutch with a bases loaded RBI single off of RHP Dany Jimenez to give the Tortugas the eventual lead and victory. Samad Taylor, who finished the night 3-3 at the plate, was stranded at third base representing the tying run in the bottom of the ninth. For the second consecutive game going back to last week, RHP Mac Sceroler secured the win on the hill for the Tortugas, pitching two scoreless innings.
