Hello everyone. It was nice to see once again so
many parents supporting our Merit Assembly
last Monday and our Earlybird Infants Orienta-
tion Day on Thursday. Both events were par-
ticularly well organised and managed, and I
thank Howard Evans, Margaret Scifleet, Maria
Abbott and Libby Yeo for making each of these
events so successful. A special thankyou needs
to go to Kerry Dorman for converting our Year
7 students into competent guitarists, perform-
ing two great rock songs, at the Merit Assem-
bly. Congratulations to all those students who
received awards.
Our new Kindergarten students were very ex-
cited as they joined the current Kindergarten
class in a series of exciting activities aimed at
making the transition from pre-school (or
home) to school much less stressful. The en-
ergy and vibrancy emanating from the Kindy
room on the day suggests the new “crop” will
be as promising as the current “crop”.
On Thursday our Earlybirds Morning Tea was
followed by our Remembrance Day Ceremony.
Congratulations to Howard Evans and Virginia
Cluff for preparing such a meaningful, heart
rendering powerpoint display which truly por-
trayed the true meaning of such a memorable
and unforgettable time in the history of man.
The essence of Remembrance Day was truly
portrayed. While our school ceremony took
place, Mr Evans accompanied our two student
representatives Jake Fergusson and Georgina
Bayly to the Town Cenotaph, to lay a wreath on
behalf of our school, in memory of the fallen.
One of the duties we will need to carry out at
the opening of the new buildings next year will
be the re-burial of the Time Capsule which was
planted during the Bicentennial Celebrations of
1988. Unfortunately it had to be raised due to
the current building work but is not officially
due to be raised until 2038. I believe Fleur Guan
(nee Inder) and Bradley Brown were School
Captains at the time and John Austin, Anne
Watts, Gordon Cox, Sue Stoddard and Tony
Yeo were members of the School Bi-Centenary
Committee. We hope all these fine supporters
of our school can join us next year on another
very special celebration.
Congratulations to St Michaels School for or-
ganising such an enjoyable and successful Musi-
cal. I, with many others, have not laughed so
much in ages which is a credit to the actors who
not only have talent but also have a great sense
of humour.
This week a number of our talented music stu-
dents are with Mrs Dorman at the Creative Arts
Camp at Lake Burrendong; Year 10 are on
Work Experience; Years 7-9 will be sitting their
Yearly Exams; and three of our Year 10 stu-
dents will be going to Parliament House in Syd-
ney, with Mr O’Brien, to present papers on Sus-
tainability and its impact on society, particularly
the youth. Good luck to all those students who
have nominated, this week, as their Year repre-
sentative for the Student Representative Coun-
cil. Enjoy your week.

membrance Day commemoration by
Jake Fergusson, Georgina Bayly, Mrs
Belinda Fergusson and Mr Howard Ev-
ans. The school was privileged to be
there paying its respect to those who
fought in all wars but particularly to
those of World War 1. Georgina and
Jake laid a wreath on behalf of the
School. War veterans in attendance cer-
tainly appreciated the presence of school
representatives from both schools.

Year 10 Work Education Year 10 are on Work Experience
this week and have gone to many different locations. Once

and planning in completing forms and contacting employers
prior to their placements. Some businesses supporting Work
Experience from Mudgee include Pro Customs, Mudgee
Guardian; from Dubbo Rhino Promotions, Family Day Care,
Matt Diamond Plumbing and from Dunedoo/Coolah Mid West
Smash Repairs, Keyhaze Shearing contractors, Dunedoo Pre-
school and Coolah Preschool. Other students have gone to the
Australian Reptile Park, Inverell Patisserie, Wellington Day
Care, Port Macquarie pharmacy and Brad Thornton Property,
Toronto. Dunedoo Central School would like to acknowledge all
these employers for their time and generosity in allowing Year
10 to experience the real world of work!
Year 9 Food Technology This week Year 9 students sit their
yearly exam and tomorrow we will be completing a prac lesson-
surprise dish. Last week we made new varieties of ice-cream to
taste test. Don’t forget to bring $4 and LEATHER SHOES.
7/8 Textiles TAS Last week we began sewing the squares of
our quilts together. All students worked superbly, earning them-
selves ACE signatures and a smiling teacher!! We had a visitor
in the room for most of one period and he was extremely im-
pressed with your work, your attitude and the way you worked
together to pack up the room. Well done Tassie’s!
