Dunham’s Lost Years Sat—Wed until 5 Nov, 11am – 5pm (last entry 4pm) Your last chance to uncover the love story between the beautiful and fashionable couple, George Harry and Catharine, which saw Dunham abandoned by the family for 50 years. *

Gardener’s Notebook Daily, 10.30am – 5pm Pick up a copy of the gardener’s notebook for a personal insight into the autumn season’s highlights. *

Rose Garden

Through September, 10.30am—5pm

Don’t miss the rose garden in bloom throughout September as the trees begin to change colour. *

Hooty’s Autumn Festival Trail Tues 5 Sept—Wed 15 Nov, 10.30am—5pm Look up amongst the trees as you follow Hooty’s special trail around the garden. Find out about his autumn festival and collect a Hooty sticker at the end. *

Deer Discovery Trail Sat 7 Oct—Sun 5 Nov, 10am–5pm From bellows to battles, the autumn rituals of Dunham's deer are revealed in a self-led trail around the park. Pick up a map from visitor reception. *

Autumn Garden Tour Mon—Fri, various times, check at reception Join a guided tour of the garden to discover the sights, sounds and smells of autumn. *

Autumn Park Walk Daily, 1.30pm Join our park guides for a guided walk around the park and find out about the autumn rituals of Dunham’s wildlife. *

Short talks Various dates —see website t The Butler’s Etiquette Lessons Victorian Butler Mr Tory teaches you a lesson in decorum and dining room etiquette. * t Let’s Talk about Tea A talk about the tradition of afternoon tea from the Housekeeper Mrs Wood. *

t The Three Mills Sat 7 Oct, 11am—1pm A walk to see Dunham’s mills in the park and on the wider estate.* T

Autumn makers workshops Various dates & times—see website t Wood Woven Drop in and have a go at spoon carving using wood from the Dunham estate.*

Beer, Bangers and Cider Sat 2—Sun 3 Sept & Sat 28—Sun 29 Oct, 11am—4pm Get a pint of locally sourced beer from Dunham Massey Brewing Company or a refreshing cider from Dunham Massey Apple Juice. Treat yourself to a venison sausage or burger whilst listening to music on the terrace. * £

Dunham’s Honey Bees Mon 4 Sept & Mon 11 Sept, 12noon—3pm A rare opportunity to find out more about Dunham Massey’s honey bees in the garden. See an observation hive in the Orangery and chat to our beekeepers. *

Honey Spinning Thurs 28 Sept, timings TBC Join our beekeepers as they harvest, spin and jar this year’s honey in the ice cream parlour. *

Wildflower Planting Mon 23—Thurs 26 Oct, 1—3pm Have a go at wildflower planting with our gardeners in this drop in session in the garden. Learn more about the importance of wildflowers in nature and take away some seeds of your own to plant when you get home. *

Spooky Stories Mon 23—Wed 25 Oct, various times between 12noon—4pm Test your bravery with some spooky stories in the stables from storyteller Helen Stewart. *

Park after Dark Thurs 7, Tues 12 & Thurs 14 Sept, 7.15pm—8.45pm Discover the nocturnal habits of Dunham’s wildlife and the best places to spot twilight activity. Listen out for the distinctive ’twit-twooo’ of the tawny owl, spot our resident fallow deer and you might even catch a glimpse of bats! Afterwards there’ll be a chance to warm up with a hot drink and cake. £12.50 BE

Rut Walks Sat 14, Wed 18, Wed 25 & Sat 28 Oct, 8.30am – 10.30am Join the rangers for an early morning walk and discover more about Dunham's deer and the rut. Includes a bacon buttie (or veggie option) and hot drink. £13.50 BE

Taste the Estate Various dates, 11am—2pm For foodies who also enjoy a walk. Sample a taste of the estate at three stop off points: 1. Dunham Massey Apple Juice, 2. Little Heath Farm Shop, 3. Dunham Massey Brewing Company. Starts at the clocktower.* Adult £5, child £2 BE
