Welcome all readers to the inaugural Duplex News.At Duplex we want you to get the most out of your cleaning machine. However there are many facilities where new staff members have not read the Duplex instruction book and never viewed the operating video or CD. So the new staff member has never been trained in the correct use of the Duplex machine.

So to assist facility staff and correct the lack of operating knowledge we endeavour to improve cleaning practices and productivity by adding to the Duplex experience. In recent years we have developed several training programs to compliment Duplex operation including Chemical Free Cleaning, Spills Management System, and the FIX-IT solution to dissolve chemical suds. Now it’s time to go back to the BASICS of Duplex Operation.

Each quarterly newsletter will focus on various cleaning matters and provide informa-tion on different Duplex products that make everyday cleaning easier. 2007 will see a series of Nationwide Duplex Training Seminars and new product launches. There are exciting times ahead for all our customers.

Although new companies always enter the market promising the world with cleaning new products; the majority shortly disappear after their prod-ucts fail to deliver. Duplex on the other hand unlocked the secret to floor cleaning 25 years ago through innovative precision engineering and thousands of customers would testify that they are definitely not a pretender.

Expertly treat your Spills1. FLUSHThe key to removing odours and stains is Flushing. Dilute the effected stain area with plenty of water. Literally pour a jug of water onto the spill. At least one litre of water will be necessary. The larger the spill the more water you will need to use.2. ABSORBAbsorb up the stain and water with a towel3. RECORDRecord the place and time of the spill so the cleaners can find it and Duplex it as soon as they come in.4. DUPLEXYour cleaning staff check the book daily. CLEANINGTRENDSCHEWING GUMChewing gum is evil and everyone that has tried to remove it from furniture, flooring or from underneath tables and chairs knows that it is completely frustrating. The quick-est solution is to use steam and a brush to remove. No chemicals should be used!

Is this statement true or false? Using detergent will help get rid of nasty stains? The answer is surprisingly, No. “Let’s face it, stains are pains” says Graham Caldwell of Flotex, “most people perceive that using detergents and carpet shampoos will do a thorough job on stained floors”. In fact most professional cleaners know that if those chemicals aren’t diluted to a very weak state, they will leave behind a sticky coat allowing stains to build-up on the fibres of the carpet.

The answer is YES. Flotex is quite easy to restore and it only involves simple easy to understand instructions

DO A SUDS TEST:1. Pour plain water onto the darkest mark2. Scrub with a hard bristle brush. Check for soap suds.3. Push the suds to one side to reveal bright clea Flotex carpet.

DIRTY FLOTEX CARPET:

1. Pour water on affected area

2. Scrub only with Duplex cylindrical brush floor scrubber on “Scrub Mode”.

3. If SUDS pour on Fix-It (remember 200ml per 5L bucket or 12 cap full)

4. Scrub only agitate Fix-It into the Flotex

5. Pickup the slurry and reapplyif there still suds

6. Continue until no SUDS. It is then fixed.

POSITIVE TEST1. Remove Chemical Residues using Flotex Fix-It.

2. Follow as for “negative test” for the next scheduled wet clean.

NEGATIVE TEST1. Use Flotex Clean - It.

2. Vacuum with a motorised brush.
