DXX 6345 Switch Node General The DXX 6345 Switch Node is a member of the Ericsson DXX 8000 Managed Access System product family intended for cellular transport system. It enables the user to build future proof networks, which easily adapts to new services and with the ability of easy expansion. The DXX 6345 Switch Node is a high-capacity next-generation transport switch with a low initializing cost. The node suits well for data applications, as a HRAN (High capacity Radio Access Network) hub or as a ring interconnector. The DXX 6345 is a single subrack, "half-size DXX 6350" providing 8 universal interface slots. The DXX 6345 is based on a single, central switching module that connects at 4/4, 4/4/1 and 4/3/1 levels. Configured as a VC-4 cross- connect, 256 STM-1 equivalent ports are avail- able, and cross-connect and synchronization functions can be equipment protected. Configured as a VC-4 and VC-12 cross-connect, up to 256 STM-1 equivalent ports are available at 4/4 level and 128 at 4/1 level. Available network protection schemes include SNC protection of VC-n signals as well as MSP 1+1 of STM-n line signals and MS-SPRing protection. The DXX 6345 offers a unique way of implementing Ethernet traffic. The traffic is mapped over SDH using GFP (Generic Framing Procedure), LAPS and/or LAPF. DXX 6345 Switch Node

General

The DXX 6345 Switch Node is a member of the

Ericsson DXX 8000 Managed Access System

product family intended for cellular transport

system. It enables the user to build future proof

networks, which easily adapts to new services

and with the ability of easy expansion.

The DXX 6345 Switch Node is a high-capacity

next-generation transport switch with a low

initializing cost. The node suits well for data

applications, as a HRAN (High capacity Radio

Access Network) hub or as a ring interconnector.

The DXX 6345 is a single subrack, "half-size

DXX 6350" providing 8 universal interface slots.

The DXX 6345 is based on a single, central

switching module that connects at 4/4, 4/4/1

and 4/3/1 levels. Configured as a VC-4 cross-

connect, 256 STM-1 equivalent ports are avail-

able, and cross-connect and synchronization

functions can be equipment protected.

Configured as a VC-4 and VC-12 cross-connect,

up to 256 STM-1 equivalent ports are available

at 4/4 level and 128 at 4/1 level.

Available network protection schemes include

SNC protection of VC-n signals as well as MSP

1+1 of STM-n line signals and MS-SPRing

protection.

The DXX 6345 offers a unique way of

implementing Ethernet traffic. The traffic is

mapped over SDH using GFP (Generic Framing

Procedure), LAPS and/or LAPF. For connection

and protection of the Ethernet traffic, the LCAS

standard is used.

Key Features

Fully non-blocking cross connect capacity of

256 VC-4 HO, 128 VC-4 LO

Application exampleA typical application is when the DXX 6345 is a termination point for several STM rings and dropping STM or Ethernet traffic

to an MSC/BSC site.
