Additional ReachEAST NSP – Elevator Pitch Competition

Using materials from the curriculum, we were able to build a portal (using Weebly!) to assist students participating the EAST NSP competition, which we designed and helped judge.

Eight finalists were chosen from over 40 entrants to pitch their projects in front of judges at the EAST National Convention in Hot Springs, AR. Teams had 90 seconds to explain how they discovered a problem within their school or community and what they did to solve it.

The finalists were from all over the state. The winner was a project called “A Walk to Remember” from Monticello Intermediate School. The students created plans for handicap accessible bridge behind their school. Another finalist was “Long Pool Recreational Area” from Dover High School, who got involved in the competition at our suggestion after we completed a session at their school.
