Creating Opportunities for Commerce and Community

SEPT/OCT 2019 A Message from the Executive Director

E-Newsletter

Dear Members,

Governor Tony Evers has proclaimed September to be Wisconsin Chamber Month, honoring

the 267 local chambers and all we do for businesses across our state. Chambers do not

always receive the recognition and credit they deserve for making Wisconsin a better place to

live, work, and play.

I am thrilled to announce that we will be introducing a new Network Health plan providing high-

quality and cost-effective health plan solutions to West Bend-area employers. This partnership

will exclusively provide the West Bend Area Chamber of Commerce members with innovative

alternatives to costly premiums at a premium discount. Watch for additional information on our plan in the

coming weeks.

We celebrated our 27th Golf Outing in July at the West Bend Country Club. The weather was absolutely perfect

and the course was in exceptionally fine condition. We owe a special thanks to Kilian Management for again

being our Premier Sponsor. You’ll find photos of the winning team, Jim Blise, Tate Boho, Terry Koth and Marco

Blise in this newsletter.

This year’s West Bend Cache Ba$h, our twelfth, was a smashing success with teams coming from 25 states

along with folks from Canada and Bulgaria. Our theme was “Superheroes”, you may have seen folks with capes

and masks searching for evil doers and geocaches all over our community.

On March 20th of 2020 the Chamber is hosting a trip to Egypt: The Land of the Pharaohs! We will visit the

Pyramids, Sphinx, Luxor, Asway, Valley of the Kings, Cairo and take a four-day cruise on the mighty Nile. If

Egypt is on your bucket list, here is your opportunity. Visit a culture that goes back 5,000 years in the company

of an expert Egyptologist guide. Tell your friends and come join us on this fascinating journey!

Our Sporting Clay Shoot is scheduled for Friday, September 27th at the Highlands in Cascade, Wisconsin. We

are happy with the enthusiastic response we have received for this event and the number of members that have

already signed up. The Highlands is truly a first class facility and we know that this will be a “sell out”. Be sure

to get your group registered right away, so you don’t miss out.

In closing, just a couple of reminders, plan on attending our Chamber Dinner and Business of the Year awards

on November 6th at the Prairie Center. Join your fellow Chamber members to celebrate business excellence.

Regards,

Craig

PS be sure to nominate a worthy business for an award!

Treasure Hunting is alive and well in

West Bend, Wisconsin…

the Geocaching Capital of the Midwest!

Over 1200 geocachers, representing 25 states and two

countries, attended the 12th annual West Bend $1000 Cache

Ba$h. This year’s theme was Superheroes.

We had warm & sunny weather for the event as Geocachers

explored West Bend and the surrounding area for 50 new

hidden caches. We also had strolling magicians performing

magic tricks at Regner Park. Our labcaches were a big hit and

had record attendance. On Saturday everyone finished their

finds and gathered for a group picture.

The response to the event and to the West Bend community

was fantastic. Everyone had a good time and said they’ll be

back again!
