Pro-life advocate
Gianna Jessen
is a living example of
an abortion survivor.
She overcame all
odds and now lives to
tell her story after a
late-term abortion
almost took her life.
Her mother went to a
Planned Parenthood
where she underwent
a saline abortion. That
kind of abortion in-
volves injecting the pregnant mother's uterus
and baby with substances such as saline, di-
goxin, potassium chloride, and prostaglandin.
Medical records would later reveal shocking
details about how little Gianna defied that
tragic moment – one that she now calls a
"gift". The medical records noted Jessen's
birth as "born during saline abortion" at nearly
30 weeks gestation.Gianna is just one exam-
ple of abortion survivors who have gone on to
lead meaningful lives.
HumanDefense.com offers compelling stories
of 4 other survivors.
Photo is of Gianna's delivering her powerful
life story to Congress.
Bishop John Doerfler has announced that, on May 22, the dispensation which
has allowed Catholics to be absent from Mass on Sundays
and Holy Days of Obligation is expiring. This means that the
faithful will be once again obliged to attend Mass in person
from that weekend on. Of course, if you are sick, or caring for
someone who is sick, or are in some situation where it is im-
possible for you to attend Mass, the obligation does not bind.
In fact, if you are sick, please stay home, for charity’s sake.
Pastor’s have the ability to grant a dispensation or commutation in individual
cases for a good reason. Fr. Tim is willing to discuss granting a commutation
for those parishioners who are truly unable to attend the Holy Mass with indi-
vidual parishioners. The health of our bodies is important, but the health of
our souls require that we gather together to worship the Lord, to be fed by Him
in the Holy Eucharist, and to support each other by our presence and our pray-
ers.
Fr. Tim

Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – Let the Children Come to Me
Parents with small children often struggle finding time to
pray. The young ones are on their own schedules, and their
needs can be demanding. To help these parents out, we’d
like to extend a special invitation to parents and children
to consider coming to our Friday adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament, after the 9:00 a.m. Mass until 11:00 a.m. It’s
okay if the kids are a little fussy, or noisy, or active – they
too can benefit from simply being in the presence of the
Lord. There will be no judgment and no stares! Now that 24
adoration has resumed at the hospital, those who are look-
ing for quiet contemplation have a place. Prayer for Vocations
Good and gracious God,
You call each person by name and
invite them to follow you. On this
World Day of Prayer for Vocations,
may each person hear and respond
to the call they have received. We pray for all
discerning marriage, the chaste single life, conse-
crated life, or ordained ministries, that your Holy
Spirit would guide, inspire, and strengthen them.
May your Church and the world be enriched by
the "yes" of your children. Amen.
St. John Vianney, Patron Saint of Priests
