From our Aerie President Good day everyone and welcome to the last month of the year. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is in the Holiday spirit. The Aerie had its third and final reading on proposed House Rules & By-Law changes on November 7, 2019. After each reading, proposals were discussed and then voted on. All proposed changes passed, and they have been sent to the Grand Aerie for final approval. Once we receive that approval, the updated House Rules & By-Laws will be in effect and posted. The Veteran’s Day parade and after party turned out amazing. The hard work, preparation and participation shows how much our Eagle supports and loves our Veterans! FOE #3204 has the honor in co-sponsoring the Veteran’s Day parade in 2020. This means we will be coordinating and working that event. This will require a lot of volunteers and preparation, but I know we will achieve all the tasks and goals put before us. Thank you to everyone that made this year and will make next year’s Veteran’s Day a great event. The State Conference, which was held November 16th & 17th was a complete success. We had a lot of members from across the state that came to this event and I know we made them proud. With all of the preparation, the food, the en- tertainment, gaming, the service, etc, it is clear that we are an amazing group of individuals that gets things done and we do it with joy and pride. Thank you to all those who were involved! Congratulations are truly in order for our Worthy Secretary and Brother Donald Burch for being nominated and approved by the State to be a candidate for the Grand Aerie Hall of Fame! The Grand Aerie will meet next year for approval. Don Burch has dedicated a majority of his life to the Eagle by serving as Presi- dent and in other offices and has had the honor of serving as our Virginia State Aerie President. We all know we could write a book on all that Don Burch has accomplished over the many years. But I believe above all things, Don’s loyalty and love for the Eagle and for charity rises above them all. Don, you are the true example of an Eagle and you are a light by which we should all strive toward. No one is more deserving of this award. Congratulations Don! There are plans underway for a Christmas gathering on Saturday, December 14th. Also, on this date, is the Army vs Navy game at 3pm. Plans are underway to make this day special. Further details to follow. The State Pool tournament will be held at our Eagle on January 10th – 11th, 2020. The pools tables are ordered, and other preparations are being made. If you are available to help out with this event, please let any Officer or Trustee know. The new year will be here before we know it. The Membership Contest is doing great. As of this submission, we have twenty- two (22) new Aerie members and others to be initiated soon. Thank you for introducing our Eagle to others and making them part of our family! Though we are closing out 2019, we can all know that we had a magnificent year. I truly believe 2020 will be no different! I hope everyone has very merry Christ- mas, happy Hanukkah and a safe and happy New Years. GOD Bless! Todd Patton, Aerie President Issue: 197 December 2019 2019-2020 Officers Aerie Past Pres. From our Auxiliary President

Sisters and Brothers,The year end is fast approaching and we are all looking forward to Christmas and the joys and smiles that we will share with family and friends. I know it seems that time keeps slipping away from us but I ask that everyone take a moment to reflect on this past year and all of the achievements we have each managed to accomplish, whether it be in our personal or professional lives or the advancements made here at 3204. We have successfully run various fundraisers to support many deserving charities as well as honoring our veterans, soldiers and amputees. We sponsored a successful conference and made sure that all of our guests left wanting to return to Virginia Beach 3204! Your individual participation was never more truly felt than all of the support you provide to the Ladies Auxiliary in their time of need. There are still more fundraisers scheduled for December, such as Patricia Ciselik’s dinner for the SPCA and various oth-ers. I know we are all concentrating on our own families and planning Christmas activities, but let us try and remember that there is still more work to do!! I wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the support and dedication you have provided this past year to Virginia Beach 3204, take pride in all you have done this year and let us all look forward to a New Year full of joy and happiness! Corinne Smith, Auxiliary President
