Programme Duration About the Department What you will learn Pre-requisites
Medical Affairs 1 year The Innovative Medicines Medical team cover a wide range of products spread over various therapy areas including Cardiovascular, Rheumatology, Immunology, Dermatology, Fibrosis and Multiple Sclerosis. The Oncology Medical team are responsible for the local medical activities relating to two key marketed immunotherapy products and a number of oncology pipeline assets, spanning a diverse range of tumour types including genitourinary, melanoma, lung, gastrointestinal, and head & neck cancers, and emerging areas of interest for Bristol Myers Squibb such as breast cancer.
You will work with a team involved in innovative, multi-indication medical products, gaining exposure to evolving scientific questions and the increasing speed of clinical development for pipeline products that fill high unmet needs for patients. You will be involved with the fundamentals of Medical Affairs, including non-promotional project management, internal & external scientific communication, compassionate drug supply, brand planning, medical governance, launch preparation, data gaps analysis and training activities. You will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to key internal and external projects, shaping & delivering medical strategy, preparing and delivering presentations, and project & budget planning, among many others, in a supportive environment.

Human Resources 1 year The UK & Ireland HR team support the business to develop and execute the People Strategy and initiatives to create Bristol Myers Squibb as a great place to work.
You will learn about how HR supports driving business performance and prepare for the future world of work, whilst managing ongoing change in the environment. Using people data, you will learn how to get insights to enable the business to make informed choices. You will be responsible for analysing data from dashboards and supporting HR Business Partners in the execution of projects.
• This role is suited for a graduate with a degree in Human Resources or Business Studies
• Must be proactive, well-organised, a quick-learner, inquisitive
• Must be able to work well in a dynamic team environment • Excellent Excel skills, creativity and project planning would
be an advantage
Digital Marketing 1 year The Digital Hub drives the planning, execution, measurement and optimization of the BMS Brand digital campaigns, tactics, and programs by collaborating with Multi-Channel Hub teams, matrix teams and agencies to pull through brand strategy and meet objectives.
You will partner with Digital Marketing Specialists (DMS) to develop our digital capabilities, and develop and execute digital brand campaigns. Examples of digital capabilities include websites, Interactive Visual Aids (IVAs), digital media and others to be identified based on brand/Hub needs. You will learn skills in cross-functional working, project and campaign management. You will have the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills through active participation in internal hub project teams, engagement with key matrix stakeholders and external agency partners.

Commercial Oncology
2 years The Oncology Commercial team’s focus relates to marketing and sales activities that drive performance and business for the Oncology licensed drugs and therapy areas. This, in addition to marketing responsibilities related to new Oncology drugs and indications to be launched in the near future.
Throughout the programme you will develop Marketing Competencies in line with a Marketing Excellence framework including an understanding of interdependent areas such as Business Planning and analytics and Market Research. You will spend the second year of the programme in a field-based sales role developing your selling competencies in line with the Value Selling Model used in BMS. In addition, you will develop a very robust understanding of the BMS drugs and therapy areas, and have the chance to work on a launch of a new drug/indication.You will gain an introduction to leadership: individual and matrix, both performance/business related, as well as personal leadership and development.
• Preferably a science based or marketing degree• Effective communication and presentation skills
Commercial Innovative Medicines
2 years The Innovative Medicines Business Unit (BU) comprises the Cardiovascular and Immunology franchises and represents 50% of our revenue in the UK/Ireland affiliate.We have a team that consists of more than 150 commercial colleagues, either based in the field (sales roles) or in head office (marketing roles).
Your first year will be in a field-based sales role. This role will be an excellent foundation to understand how we sell our brands and how we interact with health care professionals. During this time, you will also undertake a field based project and will complete the ABPI industry exam. Building on this foundation, your second year will consist of rotations across commercial functions and you will deliver projects in marketing, market research and business analytics. You will gain an understanding of how we derive insights and plans to answer key business questions. By the end of the 24 months, you will achieve an accelerated learning of the commercial functions within BMS.
• Preferably a science based or marketing/business degree (other disciplines will be considered)
• A commercially driven self-starter• Proactive with excellent organisational skills • Good at collaborating and working in a team • Ability to prioritise effectively• Full and valid UK driver’s license essential
Commercial Haematology
2 years The Haematology Commercial team’s focus relates to marketing and sales activities that drive performance and business for numerous licensed drugs and therapy areas. The team also supports marketing responsibilities related to new haematology treatments and indications to be launched in the near future.
You will develop marketing competencies and an understanding of interdependent areas such as Business Planning and Analytics and Market Research. You will develop selling skills and a practical understanding of the matrix team and integrated ways of working. In addition, you will develop a very robust understanding of our drugs and therapy areas, and have the chance to work on a launch of a new drug/indication.
• Preferably a science based or marketing degree, and general interest in the healthcare industry
• Proficient in most Microsoft software (MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint)
• Quick learner and comfortable with networking/meeting new individuals and strong verbal and written communication skills
