    Earth Garden Festival returns after a year sabbaticalfor it sixth edition with a 3-day Festival starting onFriday 31st May until Sunday 2nd of June 2013 at TaQali National Park.

    The previous editions of Earth Garden have seenthis festival grow in terms of attendance, artistsparticipation, performers, organisation and production.This has been reconfirmed when the first weekendof June has been set as the permanent date for EarthGarden Festival in the national cultural calendar.

    The Earth Garden Festival has missed the yearlyappointment last year, giving the organisers time toenhance further the production and come up withnew ideas, keeping the festival unique and avant-garde. The comeback naturally reserves some changesand improvements on an already successful event.

    In its sixth edition, Earth Garden will again feature acombination of two areas; the Open Village and also

    the Greek Theatre.

    This years edition will see a slight change, as therewill be a minimal entrance fee of 5 that will be

    charged to enter the festivals Open Village. This feecovers the entrance for the three days, including theadmission on Friday evening, a new addition to thefestival. On Friday 31st May the festival kicks off with

    an opening party hosted by Juuls at the Roots Stage.This area will also feature live bands which will surelyset the pace to the start of the much awaited sixthedition of Earth Garden!

    The Greek Theatre will also be lit up on Fridayevening with a two and a half hour live show thatwill give a tribute to Pink Floyd The Wall. This is beingproduced by the Malta Rock Movement. Tribali returnsto the Greek Theatre on Saturday 1st June, featuringvarious guests, surprises and some new songs addedto their fantastic repertoire. On Sunday 2nd June,Earth Garden has a new and exciting addition; tocomplete the circle of cultural activities, YADA will beproducing a dance show aptly named The Summer ofLove Woodstock Edition.

    As per previous editions, events at the Greek Theatrewill have an entrance fee; a 15 per show ticketsfor the Greek Theatre will be valid also for the OpenVillage entrance throughout the three day festival.

    ROOTS STAGE - FRIDAY 31st MAYEarth Garden will start off with a bang! Juuls well known for their vibrant reggaeevents, will be hosting the opening party for the festival. In addition to the reggae tunes spinning all night there willbe a live performance by Mana Tapu; possibly Maltas most international band. Think ska and reggae, think folk and rock,funk and punk, mix them all together and you will have a vague idea of what drives this bands unique sound forward.

    OPEN VILLAGEThis is where it all happens! Markets, Jugglers,Campers & 4 areas of Music! Kicking off on Friday...

    REMISSA CORNEREveryone is welcome to experience theRemissa corner, the chill-out zone offering avery captivating environment accompaniedwith good music, making our guests feelat home.

    KIDS AREAEarth Garden provides this area of genuinefun for all the family; so much so that Kidsand youngsters (under 15 years of age) thatare accompanied by parents will enterfor free.

    ROOTS STAGEAs a central platform for live bands featuringWorld Music, Blues, Reggae, Folk & Ska

    In all, there are over 15 bands performing live onthis stage, the highest number of bands since theintroduction of this area.

    Our Saturdays highlight will surely be Este Mundo, a

    group of foreign artists. They hail Latin and Spanishrhythms and performed in various events in Maltaand abroad. Whilst on Sunday; our highlight is thefemale band Moulettes; who have been describedby The Guardian (UK) as the frontrunners of the newBritish acoustic scene thanks to their sophisticated,unpredictable approach, matching exquisite femaleharmony vocals against complex, swirling backing oftheir instruments.

    Kazin Ska, a local project of Justin Galea, thatfuses band marches with ska rhythms, will also beperforming on Saturday. This band is being sponsoredby Ghanafest, a Malta Mediterranean Folk MusicFestival to be held between the 7th and 9th June

    at Argotti Gardens in Floriana. This years editionof Ghanafest features bands from Malta, Sardinia,Corsica and Crete. Ghanafest is supported by theMalta Council for Culture and the Arts.

    Other artists performing at Earth Garden include: IrieFlow with their sounds of Punk, Reggae and Ska andStalko; the restless indie folk trio with their blend of richand delicate vocals with captivating string arrangements.

    GREEK THEATREThe Main Stage - 3 days, 3 outstanding performances!This year we will be presenting 3 great nights at the Greek Theatre. Kicking off on Friday will be Pink Floyds The WallShow by Malta Rock Movement.     Presenting Pink Floyd - The Wall Show is The MaltaRock Movement. The people behind MRM are Peter Borgfrom Red Electrick, Ira Losco, Wayne Camilleri from KOI,Big Band Brothers, some members of Xirka Rock andGianni Zammit of Jugs Malta. The Pink Floyd - The WallShow will be the first venture for Malta Rock Movement

    a spectacle incorporating the classic rock album inits entirety. The show will feature some of Maltas topsingers and musicians, carefully chosen to pay tribute toPink Floyds style of performance and musical ability.

    Without revealing too much, some of the line-up includesIra Losco, Matthew James Borg, Errol Sammut, PawluBorg Bonaci, Sigmund Mifsud, to name a few of the totalof over 35 musicians and artists involved in this show.The show will not only bring great live music to the table,but it will also feature a tribute to the dramatic side of

    this iconic album. Actors will take the stage, accompaniedby the singers and musicians, under the direction ofPawlu Borg Bonaci. Detail to visual and lighting wasalways a must in the Pink Floyd world, so attendees canexpect a haven of visual entertainment, psychedelia andexceptional music.

    While always remaining faithful to their musical roots, Tribali are always open to new and intriguing influences.

    The bands constantly evolving musical outlook has led them to experiment with new styles after the making of their

    third album. This fantastic show promises to live up to the crowds expectations!

    Tribali in ConcertSaturday 1st June - this years performance promises tobe one of this summers highlights.

    2012 has been a very active and rewarding year forMaltas unique band - Tribali. They performed in severalconcerts last summer, both locally and abroad in front ofthousands, kicking off at their memorable concert in TaQali, coinciding with their 3rd studio album The Traveller.

    Just before the release of this album Tribali released a

    compilation album strategically targeted for the foreignmarket entitled Festa which made it to the Top 10 ofthe best instrumental albums of 2012 mostly associatedto new age and world music. It placed No. 7 out ofhundreds of albums worldwide. The bands work wasalso reviewed by several influential people around theglobe contributing further to Tribalis success Amongst

    these influential platforms and music journalists wereSonglines, giving a five star rating, BBC Radio PresenterDJ Ritu, World Beat Canada, several Australian musicjournalists and festival producer and music guru PeterNobles, amongst others.

    2013 continues to bring in further success, as the band

    has just been awarded Best Album of 2012 with theirthird studio album The Traveller. This is the secondalbum from Tribali to be awarded best album followingThe Elephants of Lanka.
