Don’t want to fill out paperwork each year? This is the pass for you. The EPCC Active Pass provides ongoing access to drop-in programs throughout the facility. Simply complete the Active Pass Agreement Packet in person at EPCC & immediately enjoy the benefits of an EPCC pass holder. You must pay your first monthly fee by debit or credit card & all future monthly payments are deducted directly from that same debit or credit card. How is this different from the 3-month & annual pass options? There is no set length; it can be two months, six months or ongoing. You decide! Great option for college students home for the summer; great for those wanting to give it a trial run, great for those who don’t want to fill out annual paperwork!

Education in the arts during the early childhood period

increases self-esteem & creates a

greater interest & knowledge of the arts. It helps the brains of young

children grow & develop appropriately, which increases

the capacity for learning. Children who are provided opportunities to learn about & be involved in the arts

acquire benefits in the areas of language, school readiness skills, music appreciation, self-esteem & self-awareness.

Because a child’s work is play, providing children with the opportunity to learn basic concepts though music, dance and

visual art is a developmentally appropriate practice.

Within the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) of 1990, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) provides accommodations to individuals with disabilities/special needs, so that they may receive an equal opportunity to fully participate in programs offered citywide.

How it WorksFirst choose the activity you’d like to do & the PP&R site at which you’d like to do it. Next, register for the class. When registering, let the person know that you will need accommodations in order to participate in the activity. Once registered, contact Inclusion Services at (503) 823-4328. If this is your first accommodation through Inclusion Services, you will need to do a phone intake with a staff member at that number. At the end of the phone intake it will be determined whether an assistant will be needed on the first day of the activity to provide on-site support at the age-appropriate class. Future assistance will be provided based on need. The inclusion staff will work with the instructor on how to support you and your individual needs.

A general program may be adapted using auxiliary aids & services, but the basic structure of the program remains the same. Accommodations are made as needed & can be flexible & creative, ensuring the participant engages as independently as possible.

If you have questions about Inclusion Services, please call 503-823-4328 V/TTY. A minimum of 10 business days (Monday-Friday) advance notice is required. The Inclusion Services staff will do their best to accommodate each participant.

Within the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) of 1990, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) provides

accommodations to individuals with disabilities/special needs, so that they may receive an equal opportunity to fully

participate in programs offered citywide.

We include a variety of activities to keep young minds and bodies active and challenged. Free choice and relaxation time provides a chance to enjoy low-key activities between more in-depth, structured projects and games. All children are encouraged to participate, but never forced. Fun learning experiences are incorporated into all of our programs. We create an environment that is structured and supportive, but also FUN and flexible.

Our day camps offer you flexibility in scheduling! Register by the day or even for just parts of certain days! Need an activity only 2 mornings a week or for just one-day? No need to register & pay for a full week! Our Flex-registration camps allow you to pick camps based on YOUR needs.

Safety is our number one priority. All of our staff are First Aid and CPR certified, and must pass a background check. Campers are always supervised by multiple staff persons and are never left alone. We hire highly skilled, energetic, and caring people who truly love working with children!

Aikido YoshokaiAikido, a form of Japanese Budo, is a path to self improvement based on martial art techniques. The goal of our study is not to defeat or control others, but to defeat and control our own egos. Students work as partners to study dynamic throws and powerful pins. It may look like they are fighting, but they are actually learning how to fit together and create harmony instead of conflict. We study harmony in Aikido so that we may learn to live in harmony with nature and the world. Clothing: Wear comfortable clothes. No jewelry. Uniforms required only for testing.Testing & Promotions: Testing fees start at $5, testing & promotion is not a requirement of the program.
