It seems like yesterday that 2012 was arriving. I spent some time thinking and looking back over 2012 and realize in many ways it has been a great year. We have had many new friends unite with our church and become part of EUBC. While it is true many have experienced illnesses and deaths, we have seen the church being the church to those in need. As I consider the new year of 2013, I think of what a picture of our salvation this can be. We think about the past often when the year changes. If you have been saved, the part of your salvation that lies behind is called, justification. We have been justified in the past. When we think of the next few days and resolutions we make, to break most of the time, it reminds us of the ongoing part of salvation, sanctification. Sanctification is the part of our salvation where day by day God is making us like Christ. The third thing we often think about with the coming of the New Year is the future. There is something about the New Year that gives rise to hope of a better future. This is like the third part of our salvation. That is glorifica- tion, which is the part of our salvation that will not occur until death takes us home. I trust you can relate to these three areas not only as you look forward to the New Year, but as a time to reflect and consider the complete picture of salvation. Take time to allow your heart to thank God for the blessings of what salvation did do, is doing and shall continue to do in your life. One last thing, Happy New Year!! I pray that you and your family will have a Christ centered, God honor- ing and fruitful year in 2013. Happy New Year from Joyce and me!! Edgar Note: Just a reminder….. Welcome to 2013!! It seems like yesterday that 2012 was arriving. I spent some time thinking

and looking back over 2012 and realize in many ways it has been a great year. We have had

many new friends unite with our church and become part of EUBC. While it is true many have

experienced illnesses and deaths, we have seen the church being the church to those in need.

As I consider the new year of 2013, I think of what a picture of our salvation this can be. We

think about the past often when the year changes. If you have been saved, the part of your

salvation that lies behind is called, justification. We have been justified in the past. When we think of the next

few days and resolutions we make, to break most of the time, it reminds us of the ongoing part of salvation,

sanctification. Sanctification is the part of our salvation where day by day God is making us like Christ. The

third thing we often think about with the coming of the New Year is the future. There is something about the

New Year that gives rise to hope of a better future. This is like the third part of our salvation. That is glorifica-

tion, which is the part of our salvation that will not occur until death takes us home.

I trust you can relate to these three areas not only as you look forward to the New Year, but as a time to

reflect and consider the complete picture of salvation. Take time to allow your heart to thank God for the

blessings of what salvation did do, is doing and shall continue to do in your life.

One last thing, Happy New Year!! I pray that you and your family will have a Christ centered, God honor-

ing and fruitful year in 2013.

Happy New Year from Joyce and me!!

Edgar

NEW YEAR 2013

What have I accomplished for Christ

in 2012?

Where would I like to be spiritually

at the end of 2013?

Do I have a time every day to

meditate on God’s word?

How can I pray for my family and

friends this year?

Is there something I can do through

my church to serve Christ?

Am I listening to the voice of the

Holy Spirit? What is He trying to

teach me? Is He leading me to use

my talents and abilities for Jesus?

Dear East Union Friends!

Welcome new children to EUCC:

Oakley Shea Garner (infant daughter of Amanda & Brian and big sister of Mackenzie)

T.J. Mulliniks (son of Tommy & Jessica Mulliniks)

Will Teising (son of William & Danielle Teising)

The theme for January will be about a year and the concept that there is a time for everything. Our preschoolers may not be able to grasp specific mathematical units of time, but they can grasp events - holidays, birthdays, or time segments (time to eat, sleep, or clean up), and a time for behaviors (time to be quiet, noisy, show joy, or express sad-ness). They can also begin to measure a day in seg-ments (morning, afternoon, and evening). This theme will cover all of these concepts.

Bible story: A Time for Everything Bible Reference: Ecclesiastes 3:1 Memory Verse: There is a right time for everything. Everything on earth has its special sea-son. Ecc. 3:1

East Union Children’s Corner is a SPECIAL PLACE!

Thank you to Tommy Hatchett and Ronnie Stockton for keeping our facility in good working order. We appreciate you both!! With Love in Christ,

Ms. Sandra

Awana is Awesome! Jan. 6 - 5:00 p.m.

The new year is here! Get ready for more exciting Awana! January 6 is our startup date with the Awana Nonsense Olympics. Kids, make sure you bring Mom and Dad. We will be playing games together. Leaders, you will need to be ready to play, too. On January 27, we have another Awana event. We will be talking about this all through January; Adopt a Senior Saint Fam-ily. Parents help your kids prepare to minister to our Senior Saints. February 23 is our annual Awana Grand Prix. Invite someone to make a Grand Prix car with you and have them as a friend at the races. Above all, continue to study and memorize God’s word. Love you all very much!
