MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE

Just think what it would have been like to be one of the twelve disciples

during the week before Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Today’s

service, our Good Friday service, and next Sunday’s celebration are

intended to help us appreciate the Redemption Story. What does this

week mean to you?

Parents of children in K-6th grade have the option of allowing their

children to go directly from Sunday School to Jr. Church-Faith Kids or

come to the Worship Service and leave during the last congregational

song today. Note: We will not have Faith Kids on Easter Sunday

morning.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PULPIT FLOWERS: Today’s flowers are given by Dianne and Ron Short, as well as Patty and Don Price, in loving memory of their parents, Gay and Andy Birgam.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: The Board of Trustees are calling a Congregational Meeting following this morning’s service to request approval to spend up to $6,000 for the purpose of completing an independent, outside audit of our financial systems.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL MEETING: Today, immediately after the Morning Service, will be a 30-minute informative meeting in the Founders Room for people planning on, or interested in, being involved the week of July 18-22. Our VBS theme is COW-a-bunga Farm. Nawal Abou-Rahme and Sara Hocking are co-directors. May 15 there will be an important training session about specifics for this year. Signup sheets are at the Welcome Center and at the main bulletin board.

MEETING: The Christian Education Committee will meet today at 4PM in the Founders Room.

LADIES SPRING TEA: The Spring Tea on May 7 is for women and girls of all ages. The time is noon to 2PM. More details are coming shortly. Men are needed to help serve.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: This year, our Good Friday Service will be at 7PM instead of 12NOON – 3PM. Moving the time to after business hours will allow more of our people to attend. The Good Friday service reminds us of the physical and spiritual pain Jesus endured to pay the price of our salvation. It will be about an hour and 15 minutes worship service.

RIDE TO THE 7PM GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE: Some in our church family do not drive at night. To help those with transportation limitations, we want to help coordinate rides. If you need a ride or if you could give someone a ride, contact Pastor Dave by Wednesday, March 23 via text, email or phone call: (302) 250-1928 or [email protected].

EASTER SUNDAY MORNING BREAKFAST SIGN UP: Please sign up for the Easter Sunday Family Breakfast at the Welcome Center or on the bulletin board. You will help the breakfast crew as they prepare for the celebration.

WORKERS NEEDED: If you want to experience wonderful fellowship through serving, Dianne and Ron Short could use your help preparing the Easter Family Breakfast. Please call Ron or Dianne at (302) 454-1301 or email [email protected].

EASTER SUNDAY SCHEDULE: We begin at 7:30AM with our “Sunrise Service” featuring Rev. John Thomas. Breakfast will be served at 8:30AM (Be sure to SIGN UP at the main bulletin board – all are invited) and the Morning Service begins at 10AM. There will be no Sunday School or Evening Service on Easter Sunday.

SBM HOPE TOTE: We can help The Sunday Breakfast Mission reach out to homeless people in downtown Wilmington by filling “Hope Totes.” A “Hope Tote” is a little purple bag with inexpensive items that make a big difference in a homeless person’s life! On the table in the foyer are envelopes with all the information you need as well as the purple bag! All totes

are due back to FBC today. However, any totes that come in this week will be taken to the mission as well. Thank you!
