Naia is favorably ranked on the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI) to show its environmental impacts compared to other types of fibers. OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100 certifies products against use of harmful chemicals, ensuring skin-friendly material (measured via human health and safety factors). To reassure customers about the safety of garments made with Naia , all Naia cellulosic fiber is OEKO-TEX ® Standard 100 Product Class I certified. This means Naia is skin-friendly and approved for infant clothing. The ZDHC Roadmap to Zero program is focused on eliminating the use of hazardous chemicals in the MRSL through wastewater quality checks and auditing. Eastman Naia is in alignment with the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) program and ensures our manufacturing process does not use any chemicals listed in the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL). The life cycle assessment (LCA) demonstrates the environmental impact of Naia from cradle to fiber. The LCA has been externally reviewed and verified by Quantis as compliant with the ISO 14044 standard. Naia incorporates solar and wind renewable energy credits to further reduce environmental footprint by approximately 35%.
