Emirates Sepsis Forum - Awareness Matters:Sepsis has become one of the burden on the health care system worldwide. To date; it is considered the leadingcause of death compared to other morbidities. Not only that, but also survivors may suffer from physical andpsychological sequelae, which mandates special rehabilitation programs.

Therefore, education required to prevent, diagnose and treat sepsis early. Collaborative teamwork initiated to establishthe awareness campaign of sepsis international guidelines and educate healthcare providers to:• increase awareness of sepsis definition• highlight Diagnostic challenges• initiate high standard management for sepsis by health care providers

The Emirates Intensive Care Society and the Global Sepsis Alliance support the UAE Sepsis Forum to make theawareness goals spread in Emirates. From April 2016, our campaign will extend to have public awareness spreadingby participating people their social activities.

The 12th Emirates Critical Care Conferencewas another point to start cooperation withthe World Sepsis Day organizers byaddressing the global challenges of sepsisin different levels and had a consensus tosupport the SEPSIS awareness more in thesocial media and overcome the difficultiesencountered by healthcare providers byproper education to patient and families aswell. We also invited sepsis survivors tospeak about their experiences afterrecovery. They all agreed that sepsisprevention is very important and peopleshould know more about how to recognize itearlier to avoid its complications.
