Client Profile Ryobi Die Casting is leading the industry in high-pressure aluminum die castings. As a tier one supplier to the automotive industry, the company is dedicated to providing customers with only the highest quality castings on time. Ryobi’s products include transmission cases, housings, engine parts, and most recently, structural parts. Parts are used in a number of Ford, GM, and Toyota vehicles. The Challenges In search of an HR and Payroll vendor with better customer support, Ryobi switched from a larger vendor five years ago to ECI, for a more boutique experience. The ECI ® Empower platform and a responsive customer support team have delighted the Ryobi team. So much so that when it came time to look for a better TLM solution, ECI was top of mind. The company’s previous TLM solution was not integrated with HR and Payroll, which meant a disconnect that caused errors each week due to the manual and inefficient process of entering time keeping information into Empower Payroll. “We reached a point of frustration with the lack of integration with our time keeping system, so our first thought was to get in touch with ECI,” said Scott Shepherd, Human Resources Manager. A fully unified system rather than one that bridged across platforms was very important to Ryobi and after an ECI Time and Labor Management demonstration, they were set to wave goodbye to multiple systems and embrace a unified platform. Implementation of TLM Having been through a previous implementation of ECI Empower Payroll and HR Management, the Ryobi team felt confident the implementation of ECI TLM would be smooth and successful. “We experienced great communication throughout the implementation process,” Shepherd said. “Constant communication with ECI’s team meant we knew what was needed from our end and any issues that needed to be addressed. We were not handed rep to rep, but had a dedicated rep throughout, which made the process efficient.” Plus, early training with Ryobi’s administration team allowed time for feedback about what was and was not working. “The bugs got worked out right away before we went fully live,” Shepherd said. “The training provided to our users was extremely strong. When we rolled out TLM on a Monday, we had access to our ECI point of contact over the weekend prior, so upon go live we felt hand in hand with ECI and not out on our own.” Ongoing Support “Whenever we have an issue, we can easily get someone on the phone and most likely it will be our implementation rep, but if not the notes are so good in the system, ECI always knows exactly what is going on,” Shepherd said. “ECI is the standard setter for the different vendors we use. Our president specifically called out the ECI TLM integration and said it sets the standard of any rollout and is the system any future rollouts will be judged by.” A boutique customer support experience and a unified platform were on their wish list, and ECI delivered. “We have a true relationship with ECI,” Shepherd said.
