COURSE OBJECTIVES

After this course, participants shall be able to:

4 Understand the basic concepts related to muscle injuries, including mechanism of injury, healing, risk factors, and rehabilitation4 Understand the healing process of muscle injury, and how it effects our treatment4 Able to plan and design a specific rehabilitation programme that includes optimal loading4 Integrate the latest research on muscle injuries into clinical practice 4 Perform and interpret an initial and daily assessment of hamstring injury 4 Able to plan and design a specific rehabilitation programme that includes optimal loading for hamstring injury4 Integrate the latest research on hamstring injuries into clinical practice4 Consolidate information related to diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of muscle injuries

Dr. Van Dyk has lectured extensively around the world on muscle injuries and continues to provide clinical care for athletes at the Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Doha, Qatar.
