Taken on a gorgeous afternoon; the twilight covered allbuildings, including the castle and Old College, withgolden shade, which I just had to capture. In this picture,Edinburgh is like a fairy tale city I imagined in childhood.

On our way home from Farmers’ Market, I saw thisscene when the comforting flavours of the marketwere still with us: honey, vegetables, chocolates andfriendships. These made me feel alive, real and athome. Life here is as colourful as this photo!

Taken atop Arthur’s Seat a week after this groupof study abroad students arrived in Edinburgh. We were so excited to be in the city and to havemade it to the top! This picture is my view ofEdinburgh, it shows the beautiful city, it’ssurroundings, and the people who I spend mytime with enjoying all the city has to offer.

Sandwich Lunch (a University Accommodationactivity) at Blackford Hill, King’s Buildings. Afterhaving lunch, international students from WestMains Road remembered the games we playedin our home countries and taught each otherour games. Distance from our own countrydoesn’t matter because this shows we can behappy here, as if Edinburgh is our own home.

Edinburgh International Festival Fireworks. Thissignifies one of the biggest turning points in myyear and shows all the facets of feeling ‘at home’in Edinburgh: international tourists, internationalstudents, visiting friends and family, freshersarriving, other students returning, reunions withfriends, lively streets and long nights.

My friend who was visiting took this photo of me while walkinginto town for a sightseeing day in April 2009. The meadows are‘Edinburgh as home’ for me, as it is my daily walk to/from theUniversity and the city. This shot while the cherry blossoms arein full bloom, walking with friends, is the perfect Edinburgh day.
