Objectives
o The student will be able to draw the notes of the C major scale in the bass andtreble clef.
o The student will be able to identify the notes of the C major scale by letter name
on the bass and treble clef.
o The student will be able to identify the notes of the C major scale by degree onthe bass and treble clef.
Approach
o
Because of the introductory level of this course the design will use a behavioralapproach with a demonstration stimulus, and a written response by the student.
o Slide timing will be controlled by the user.
Course Outline1. An introduction slide
a. Summary of the materials that are covered.
b. Embedded link to manuscript paper pdf file2. A branching slide with a menu and links to the following four subject groups and to the
quiz:
a. Group 1: Build one octave C major scale from middle C in the treble clef
i.
Identify middle C on the treble clefii. Draw one ascending octave and identify the notes by letter name
b. Group 2: Build one octave C major scale from low C on the bass clef
i. Identify low C on the bass clefii.
Draw one ascending octave and identify the notes by letter name
c. Group 3: Know the notes of the C major scale in the treble clef by degree
i. Identify all Cs as the 1stdegree of the scale
ii. Identify D as the 2nd
degree of the scale

iii. Number the degrees of the scale of the remaining notes in the octave
d. Group 4: Know the notes of the C major scale in the bass clef by degree
i. Identify all Cs as the 1stdegree of the scale
