www.runnymedebusinesspartnership.org.uk You are invited to come to our next breakfast forum meeting to hear Runnymede Borough Council’s budget plans and the changes that it's going through, and to give your views. On Wednesday 5 th December, Paul Turrell, Chief Executive and Peter McKenzie, Head of Corporate Finance will host the meeting in the Council Chamber in the Civic Centre, Addlestone. They will give an outline of the Council’s budget strategy for the next three years and the major changes the council is going through to reduce costs and continue to deliver the high quality services residents and businesses expect. There are a number of significant government initiatives planned for 2013 including significant reductions in welfare benefit spending which may affect local economies. Local councils will be able to retain some of the business rates they collect, incentives to minimise council tax increases and the ongoing impact of the Austerity measures. The views of the business community are an important part of that process as they will outline how the Council intends to shape services, including the development of our town centres. There will also be the opportunity to hear from Adele O’Sullivan of the National Apprenticeship Service about the grants, of up to £3000, available for new apprenticeships. Members of Finance Team will be available after the meeting to answer questions Book your place by email now - see booking details on the back page!
