Mr. Timothy L. Baucom, Executive Vice-President, Residential Business, Shaw Industries, Inc., will speak at the State of Industry Breakfast.
Mr. Baucom leads Shaw Floors – the residential carpet and hard surface business divisions of Shaw Industries, the world’s largest manufacturer of carpet and leading producer and supplier of hard surface flooring products. He is directly responsible for the residential division’s product innovation and growth.
Mr. Baucom joined Shaw in 1992 and has a proven track record of innovation and leadership in sales, marketing and strategic planning across multiple Shaw departments and divisions, including Spectra Contract Flooring. Most recently, he led Shaw’s commercial division where he spent more than a decade guiding the team’s award winning work and fostering the development of revolutionary new products.
Mr. Baucom’s 35-year career in business includes DuPont, a world leader in innovation and science. In 1935, DuPont invented the nylon fiber that is used in some carpets even today. At DuPont, he helped launch the well-known Stainmaster® brand.
Mr. Baucom has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in business administration from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. Born in North Carolina, he lives in Dalton, Georgia with his wife Cheryl, where they are involved in Family Promise, an organization designed to help homeless and low-income families achieve independence, and the Heart Association, an organization dedicated to curing heart disease. They have a married daughter, Bergen Baucom Aldahir.
A Ribbon Cutting was held for Gordon Hospital’s Creation Trail on Tuesday, March 28th. The trail is located on the Red Bud Road campus and is open to the public. It was
made possible by contributions from hospital employees, the Gordon Hospital Foundation and Northwest Georgia
Paving.

Play the Fair Way: Contest Rules
The Hole in One Contest must be witnessed by two playing partners and an independent, official witness over age 18 who is neither a contest participant nor an employee of the Stephen Poloney Agency. The independent witness shall be stationed at the green or the tee box at the designated hole.
No practice shots, mulligans or substitute shots are permitted.
Golfers bearing any past or present professional designation at the club or touring level are ineligible to participate.
The prize will be awarded to the first participant to score a hole in one at the designated hole. Only one player may win and only one prize will be awarded.
Hole in One Contest is sponsored by Stephen Poloney Agency. The Gordon County Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors and/or Staff are not responsible for monitoring or paying for Hole in One Contest, which is the sole
responsibility of the Stephen Poloney Agency.

Gordon Hospital was the premier sponsor of Relay for Life’s “Fight to Win” Fashion Show at GEM Theatre on June 4, which is the American Cancer Society’s National Survivor’s Day. Twenty-one models walked in celebration of their own survival, a friend or family member who
survived, or in honor of those who lost the battle. The whole group posed for the photo above right as Danika Morton gave a solo performance.
