MONMOUTH COLLEGE MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Monmouth College is a private, selective, residential college, offeringmajors in the natural sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, aswell as outstanding academic advising, small, seminar-style classes,varied internship and study abroad opportunities, and summer researchexperiences to thoughtful, intellectually engaged and ambitious studentsfrom across the United States and around the world.

Monmouth College has a longstanding tradition of welcoming students from every part of the world.We know that international diversity within our student body benefits all students, inside theclassroom and beyond. International Merit Scholarships are awarded to admitted internationalapplicants who demonstrate strong scholastic abilities and potential. Award amounts vary, with amaximum of $15,000, and may be renewed for three additional years of study. An applicant doesnot need to demonstrate financial need to be eligible. WHITWORTH UNIVERSITY MERIT- AND NEED-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Whitworth, founded in 1890, is a private, Christian-affiliated university thatwelcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds and celebrates therichness that this diversity brings to the campus community. Whitworth is committed to supportingtalented international students with both merit and institutional need-based aid opportunities.

The Mind and Heart ($20,000) Presidential ($17,500), Trustee ($15,000), and Whitworth ($12,500)Scholarships are available to qualifying first-year international students. Transfer scholarshipsranging between $6,000 and $13,000 are also available. MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY MERIT-BASED SCHOLARSHIPS

Montana State University is a mid-sized (14,660 students) universityoffering all the advantages of a much larger institution, with the friendlycommunity of a smaller campus. MSU is especially known for qualityprograms in the fields of agriculture, architecture (NAAB), business(AACSB), computer science (CSAB), engineering (ABET), film production,nursing (CCNE), and the sciences.

Montana State University offers scholarships based on ACT or SAT scores to non-residentfreshmen who apply for Fall Semester. The MSU Achievement Awards range between US$2,000and US$12,500 per year and are renewable for four years with maintenance of a 3.0 / 4.0 gradepoint average. Applicants who send their official ACT or SAT scores will automatically qualify for ascholarship if their score meets the minimum score of 1560 (SAT) or 23 (ACT).

All international undergraduate applicants (freshman and transfer applicants) will automatically beconsidered for this new student scholarship valued up to US$3,500 and based on the previousacademic record.For more information, please visit: http://bit.ly/ovmuam

UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN LAW SCHOOL GROTIUS FELLOWSHIPS

The University of Michigan, founded in 1817, celebrates a long anddistinguished history. It was in 1787 that the Northwest Territorial Ordinance provided public land forthis and other Midwestern universities and established a tradition of respect for excellence in highereducation.

The University of Michigan Law School is pleased to announce that Michigan Grotius Fellowshipsare available for LL.M. and SJD applicants with superior academic and professional achievement inany area of law. Grotius Fellows are free to pursue their chosen program of graduate legal studyand are not subject to any additional academic requirements. NEW VIDEO ON STUDYING IN THE STATES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

The "Studying in the States" website provides prospective and currentinternational student visa holders with key tips they should keep in mind in orderto stay in compliance with U.S. immigration rules and ensure their time whenstudying at a U.S. college or university is a positive one.

The new video is narrated by current international students who are pursuingdegrees in the United States. PENN STATE LAW EXTENDS LL.M. APPLICATION DEADLINE

Penn State is a multicampus public research university that educatesstudents from Pennsylvania, the nation and the world, and improves the well being and health ofindividuals and communities through integrated programs of teaching, research, and service.

Penn State Law has extended its LL.M. application deadline for January 2013 admission fromOctober 31 until November 15. We will be hosting a Virtual Open House on Tuesday, November 6at 8:30 a.m. (EST GMT minus 5 hours) where you can learn more about our program. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY LAVA PROJECT MIXES SCIENCE, ART, ANDEDUCATION

Syracuse University is a public good, an anchor institution positioned toplay an integral role in today’s knowledge-based, global society by leveraging a preciouscommodity—intellectual capital—with partners from all sectors of the economy: public, private, andnon-profit.

The Syracuse University Lava Project is a unique mix of science, art and education that weredeveloped to investigate the physical properties, aesthetics and educational opportunities ofcreating basaltic lava flows in a controlled, albeit outdoor laboratory environment.

Chunks of basaltic rock, similar to that found on the seafloor in Hawaii, are melted and poured toproduce natural-scale lava flows up to a few meters long. In addition to facilitating scientificexperiments that engage faculty and students at SU and volcanologists from other institutions, theproject also supports artistic creations. The lava experiments permit sculpture students to createworks of art by pouring lava into molds that can be preserved for display in schools and museums.For more information, please visit: http://bit.ly/SfCsB5

The University of Northern Iowa International Student Association (ISA)hosted a Halloween dance to let students come together and have ascary good time! UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS OFFERS UNIQUE SUSTAINABLE TOURISMPROGRAM

The University of North Texas (UNT) is a student-centered public researchuniversity located in Denton, Texas, a safe and pleasant community locatedjust outside Dallas, the 4th largest metroplex in the United States.

M.S. in International Sustainable Tourism program is a joint Master ofScience degree in International Sustainable Tourism (MIST) between UNT and The TropicalAgricultural Research and Higher Education Center in Turrialba, Costa Rica. The UNT-CATIE jointmaster’s degree is the first of its kind in the United States. In this two-year program, you will spendthe first two semesters at UNT and the last three semesters at CATIE in Turrialba, Costa Rica.
