KETV continued to provide internshipopportunities in the News Departmentfor up to 7 students per semester in theFall, Spring and Summer. They mayshoot, edit, interview, write and gathermaterial for news stories, assist withproducing and research. Interns answerphones and listen to police scanners.Students get the chance to see the innerworkings of the news department andlearn what it takes to cover/research astory. We also assist interns in puttingtogether their first resume tape. Internstypically work 16 hours per week inthe Fall and Spring (24 in theSummer). They have three assignmentsthat must be completed. They write andedit a VO, VSot and write/edit and tracka package. During this reporting period6 interns worked at KETV.

The Hearst Sales Development Programis designed to train and develop entrylevel Sales Account Associates for afuture Account Executive role withinHearst Television. This salesdevelopment program is acomprehensive 10-12 month trainingwith a defined training program outlineand milestone goals. Training programobjectives are tracked by the salesmanagement team and reported tocorporate management. After successfulcompletion of the Hearst SalesDevelopment Program, the SalesAccount Associate will have theskills/experience necessary to qualifyfor a Sales Account Executive role.Gabrielle Fields was the first SAA tocomplete this new training and waspromoted to an Account Executive role.

KETV's Chief Meteorologist, BillRandby, gave a weather presentation atKing of Kings Church at a luncheon. Therewere fifty adults that participated in thisluncheon.

6 3/28/2019 Participation in JobFairs

KETV and personnel for KETV'scorporate parent attended a job fairhosted by the the Offutt Airman &Family Readiness Center and theHuman Resource Association of theMidlands (HRAM). It is open to allactive duty, DoD civilians, veterans,retirees, guard reserve, family membersand the public. In addition to lookingfor career opportunities transitioningservice members attending areencouraged to use the fair as a learningopportunity to research and explore newcareers, start learning about the civilianworkforce culture, and have one on oneconversations with HR representativesto answer some of their questions andidentify other potential career paths.

This focus also gives the employers theopportunity to be actively involved inhelping the transitioning servicemembers transition out of the militaryand integrate into the civilian sector.The fair ran from 10AM to 1:30PM atthe Bellevue Lied Activity Center.

Sarah Fili, Reporter participated in a Jobshadow with a Metropolitan CommunityCollege-Elkhorn student. They talkedabout each department and how theycontribute to the station. In thenewsroom, they met with newsproducers, sports and anchors and talkedto them about their job roles of writing,editing and anchoring the newscasts.They talked about Sarah's role fromwhat is discussed in the news meeting,to setting up and interviewing people;then logging and editing that down in toa package for the air. Additional itemsdiscussed were trips anchors take to tellstories and the daily shoots sports goesout on. The importance of hair andmakeup was discussed along withoutside critiques from viewers and howto be successful in TV news. Thecompetition was discussed in what setsus apart from them. A discussion aboutadvertisements and the sales team washad as well as the maintenance of ourtower and that it is located on North72nd Street.

KETV sponsored the Nebraska ScienceFestival @ Durham Museum. All of ourmeteorologist participated in thiscommunity event that showcasesdifferent types of science. Ourmeteorologist used different props toshow the children how weather canchange quickly. Much discussed on thefact that meteorologist are scientist andwhat types of education and software topredict the weather.

Ariel Roblin, President and GeneralManager holds One on One LeadershipMeetings with individual employees andgroups each year. These One on OneLeadership Meetings are a trainingprogram designed to enable stationpersonnel to acquire skills that couldhelp them to qualify for higher levelpositions within the Company. Theprogram helps employees in learningnew communication skills and stylesthat would be helpful in interacting withco-workers.

Individual meetings were held between6/17-7/10/19 and a group meeting washeld on 7/25/19.
