    INTRODUCTION

    Teaching courseware or cdscoursewarehas been introduced to Malaysian schools

    since our Prime Minister has changed the

    medium of instructional from mother

    tongue to English language, which canhelp teachers in their teaching and

    learning process.

    According to Forgasz & Prince (2002),only 19% of their respondents (teachers)

    in the international school use CD-ROMs

    that accompanied mathematics textbooks

    in class.

    There were two limitations in

    implementing this cdscourseware in

    school :1. Lack of facilities and the conditions of the

    computer was not too good to be use.

    2. Lack of knowledge and experiences

    among teachers in using the ICT tools.

    During last practicum, I can say that

    teachers seldom use the cds

    courseware. The things in computer lab is very

    expensive

    Lack of experiences in handling the tools.

    Objective

    To investigate the pupils and teachersbackground on use of cdscourseware either

    they have attended a special course in

    learning to use this courseware or not.

    Investigating the effectiveness of using cdscourseware which has been introduced by our

    Ministry of Education in teaching and learning

    Mathematics in Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai

    Lui, Hulu Langat under the topic division

    without remainder.

    To find the relationship between the useof cdscourseware and pupils

    performance in Mathematics learning

    especially in division.

    Investigate on how this cdscourseware

    can be implemented to improve our

    teaching and learning process especially

    as Mathematics teachers.

    Research Questions

    Is the cdscourseware effect

    pupils performance inMathematics learning under

    the topic division?

    Target Group Pupils from year 3 of Sekolah Kebangsaan

    Sungai Lui. 3 Cekal

    33 pupils that consist of 17 male pupils and 16

    female pupils.

    the first class of year 3 classes.

    Half of them are good in Mathematics.

    The classs teacher has streamed the pupils

    according to the result of their previous lesson. The pupils have been grouped according to

    their level of achievement.

    About three quarter of them have experienced

    in learning Mathematics using the ICT facilities.

    Data Analysis

    Analysis and interpretation for pre and posttest.

    ~ How to do the pre and post test?

    - I have been doing my pre and post test in two

    stages.- Each stage, consist pre and post test.

    - For the pre test, I have taught them without usingthe cdscourseware as the teaching aids and

    then I give them a test.- For the post test, I have taught them using thecdscourseware and give them a test.

    - From the two tests, I collect the result andpresent the result in chart or graphic organizer so

    that it is easier to read. Then I analyze it.

    FINDING

    The focus wants to find the effectivenessof cdscourseware and the relationship

    between the uses of cdscourseware in

    teaching with the pupils performance in

    Mathematics especially in division.

    For the data that collected, use of cds

    courseware in teaching and learning

    process has improved pupils

    performances.

    It is proven from the result of the both

    tests, where there are nine failures in

    the test 1A compared to zero failure inthe test 1B with 30% value of

    decrement.

    I used the cdscourseware in mysecond teaching, pupils who scored A

    was increasing by 30% of increment.

    Pupils become more active in class

    and they are eager to know what they

    will find out after I play the cds

    courseware.

    From the both test 2A and 2B, shows

    me that the cdscourseware is able to

    help pupils in understanding the

    division without regrouping better.

    Only eight pupils failed in test 2B.

    From the data that I have, these pupils

    come from families that not educatedand work as farmers or doing simple

    work. Thus, the children do not feel the

    needs of education in their life as theirparent are not that educated.

    Result shows that pupils have really

    improved a lot when we use cds

    courseware as the teaching aids. The structures or the contents of the

    courseware have helped pupils in

    understanding and they will be attractedto the style of delivery of the

    courseware, which is colorful, animated

    and full of activities.
