Principal’s Message

Five hundred eighty students graduated from Mililani High School this year with 90% of the students going to a 2-4 college program. They earned over $7 million in scholarships. There were TWENTY EIGHT VALEDICTORIANS, with about 130 Summa cum Laude and about 250 Magna cum Laude Board of Education Diplo-mas. What a testament to all the teachers in our complex! What a wonderful tribute to all the hard work of all of our teachers and you! Together we set the foundation on which our children’s’ future educational achievement is built.

Thank you all for all your donations to our school this past year. Each time our teachers have needed your support you have responded with generosity. Our May Day program was made more beautiful because of all your greenery and flowers. We were able to make close to 20 flower arrangements to decorate our stage. Donations for our Spring Fling Kindergarten and First grade baskets si-lent auction were overwhelming and the proceeds will be put to good use in our classrooms.

Next year we begin on August 3rd. Reminder that our bell schedule will be changed for us to end school at 12:30pm on Wednesdays and end at 2:15 the rest of the week. We welcome the YMCA as our A+ provider.

The new school year, begins with shopping for school supplies. Want to avoid the hassle of shopping and help our school earn funds for our playground equip-ment? Well consider buying your child’s school supplies from SKOOL TOOLS! They will do your shopping for you, purchasing QUALITY products with REASON-ABLE prices! You will even get a discount if you order by June 8th, our last day of school! Look for the ordering information inside this bulletin.

It’s time to say good bye to those of you leaving us. We hope that you have had a wonderful educational experience with us. Have a great summer!

Much Aloha,

Heather Wilhelm

Used Shoe Collection

Thank you for the donation of used shoes for the Niketown Reuse a Shoe collection held in April. Usable parts of old shoes are ground up and recycled in our athletic parks.

HECO CHALLENGE RESULTS

Thank you everyone for your hard work in helping to create a more responsible community. While Mililani Uka ES was success-ful in reducing their home energy use by 5.13% resulting in an estimated savings of $13,100, we were not one of the top three schools with the highest reductions. Con-gratulations to our complex schools Mililani Mauka and Mililani Ike for placing first and third respectively.

We extend our thanks to HECO for giving us this opportunity to educate our school community about responsible energy use. Mahalo to all of our HECO families for their personal success in reducing energy use.
