12 th September 2017 Dear Colleague East Hampshire’s “Celebration of Volunteering” 2017 Our Volunteer Service invites you to celebrate and acknowledge the time and energy given by volunteers in your organisation at an awards evening at Festival Hall, Petersfield on Wednesday 29 th November at 5.00 pm. This event is being supported and sponsored by East Hampshire District Council. Which organisations can take part? Any group or organisation operating in the voluntary and community sector in the East Hampshire district can nominate volunteers. We particularly welcome nominations from organisations who have not taken part in this event before. This year the format is slightly different. There are now 6 awards categories with 3 volunteers receiving an award in each category. This means that there will be a total of 18 award winners. Who can be nominated? Any volunteer within your organisation who meets the criteria. When thinking about who to nominate don’t forget your trustees, committee members, young people and volunteers who help out at sports and social clubs. Volunteers nominated must:- be volunteering in East Hampshire or volunteering for an organisation based in the district fulfil the criteria listed on the attached sheet have not previously received a Lifetime Achievement or Special Commendation award We would like to ensure that as many organisations as possible have the opportunity to nominate their volunteers, so we would

East Hampshire’s “Celebration of Volunteering” 2017

Our Volunteer Service invites you to celebrate and acknowledge the time and energy given by volunteers in your organisation at an awards evening at Festival Hall, Petersfield on Wednesday 29th November at 5.00 pm. This event is being supported and sponsored by East Hampshire District Council.

Which organisations can take part?Any group or organisation operating in the voluntary and community sector in the East Hampshire district can nominate volunteers. We particularly welcome nominations from organisations who have not taken part in this event before.

We would like to ensure that as many organisations as possible have the opportunity to nominate their volunteers, so we would ask you to select a maximum of 3 volunteers per category, unless you are nominating a team. Please note you can nominate a volunteer for more than 1 category. The top 3 shortlisted volunteers

nominated for an award in each category will receive a certificate at the awards evening.

AwardsThis year the 6 categories are:

• Young Volunteer of the Year• Business Team of the Year• Team of the Year • Unsung Hero • Lifetime Achievement• Special Commendation

For further details on the awards please refer to the criteria on the attached document.

How do I nominate a volunteer?Please complete a separate nomination form for each volunteer you wish to nominate and return it as shown below by no later than 5.00 pm Tuesday 17th October 2017.
