Visit to stakeholders to know implementation of
“Prevention of Child Marriage Act (PCMA), 2006:
AESS, Koraput: The two days visit of Mr. Sasanka
Sekher Padhi (Consultant of Action aid, BBSR) for collecting
status on the PCMA, 2006 in Koraput district. During the
visit, he interacted with the stakeholders i.e. village level
Govt. Institutions and Dist. level Govt. Officials on 8th
January, 2017. He had visited Janiguda village of
Bhitargada GP (Laxmipur) and interacted with SMC, AWW,
PRIs representatives, Parents and Adolescent Girls
regarding Child Marriage Issue and implementation of
PCMA, 2006. In 2nd day of his visit he met and interacted
with District level officials like DSWO, CDPO and Project staffs of local NGOs (Ekta ). He wanted to
know the root causes of child marriage in the Adivasi areas of Koraput district. He discussed on the
questions about the status and situation of child marriage ratio in Koraput District and implementation
of the PCMA, 2006
PANCHAYAT ELECTION 2017: The Sangathan leaders of AES have filled nomination for Sarpanch
and Samiti Members in their respective Gram Panchayats in the Panchayat Election 2017. The details of

Formation of Village Level Single Headed Women
Group: AESS, Koraput: In AESS Project areas, 10 village
level single headed groups have been formed by the
Sangathan members. The main objective to form the
group is to know about the real problems of single
women regarding their life & livelihood, earnings, access
over govt. services and benefits etc. Every month, the
group members will sit together and discuss their
problems and prepare strategy to address the problems.
In the coming days, the GP and District level Groups also
will be formed to address the identified issues in the
district level forums.

TRAINING ON DESIGN AND MANIFACTUREING OF CLEAN COOK STOVE:
ACCESS, Koraput: One day training program on
design and manufacturing of clean cook stove to
Sindura Self Help Group at Pottangi on 12th
January, 2017. In the training program, 10 members
of the Sindura Self Help Group trained on
designing and manufacturing of clean cook stove
(cement) by the ACCESS project staffs Ms. Sabita
Kuldeep and Mr. Prabhas Khora. After the training
program, the SHG members will manufacture the
cook stoves and will promote for it marketing.
COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION FOR CLEAN COOK STOVE: ACCESS, Koraput: Community
mobilization on clean cook stove has been organized at Kumbhar Limka village of Padmapur GP
of Koraput block on dated 22nd January, 2017. The project staffs motivated people by sharing the
benefits of the cook stove as compare to local and traditional cook stoves.
CCFD, Koraput: Two days training program on
Selection of Model village has been organized at
WORD office, Damanjodi from 10th and 11th
January, 2017. CCFD partners from 6
organizations were participated in the training
program. Mr. Ashok Kumar Mishra and
Ms. Sabita Kuldeep from Ekta were participated
in the training program.

FIELD VISIT BY CITY-INCHARGE, CHILDLINE INDIAN FOUNDATION: Childline,
Borigumma: Ms. Autoshi Dutta Dey, City In-Charge,
Childine Indian Foundation has visited childline
Koraput Ekta on 23rd January, 2017. The objective of
her field visit was to review the project activity,
process of its implementation, verify documents and
registers and provide necessary feedback and
suggestions for further improvement in the quality of
the project activity. On the 1st day of her field visit,
she interacted with the childline team members and
discussed on the challenges and difficulties during
implementation of project activities. She gave
feedbacks and suggestions to the team members
towards further improvement in the project level.
On 25th January, 2017, the Childline Directors
meeting have been organized at SOVA conference
hall at 5 pm. The objective of the meeting was to
share field level challenges and difficulties for
smooth operation of childline project activities. In
the meeting, childline Directors of Ekta, SOVA and
WORD along with the Team members and Project
Coordinators of Collab were participated in the
Director’s meet. Ms. Autoshi Dutta Dey facilitated
in the Directors’ meet.
OBERVATION OF 28TH ROAD SAFETY WEEK:
Ekta, Koraput: 28th Road Safety Week has been
observed in collaboration with Town Police, Koraput
and Childline Koraput Ekta and SOVA. To create
awareness on road safety and traffic rule was the
prime objective of this campaign. Bike rally and role
play on road safety has been organized by the local
youths, staff of Ekta, SOVA and Town Police.
CASE INTERVENTION: Childline, Borigumma:
In the reporting month, 7 cases were intervened by
the childline Koraput Ekta team members out of
which 4 cases were produced before Child Welfare
Committee (CWC) and 3 cases were informed to
the CWC. In the month, 440 hours of outreach
activity has been done (50 Individual, 186 Small
Group and 204 Group).

MHU (Mobile Health Unit)
Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Pottangi has organized 44 health camps in the different 06 outreached
pockets Gram Panchayats of the block. In the health camps, 1555 patients were availed treatment and
medicine services from the MHU staffs. Around 79 ANC and 69 PNC cases were identified during the
health camp.
Mobile Health Unit (MHU) Ramgiri has organized 21 health camps at Ramgiri, Haldikund, Chipakur
and Dandabadi Gram Panchayats of Boipariguda block. In the health camps, 1493 patients were availed
treatment and medicine services from the MHU staffs.
OTHER ACTIVITIES AT Ekta:
Quarterly Project review of ACCESS project was conducted at Practical Action Office, Bhubaneswar.
Project level stalk taking review cum further planning was conducted at Ekta, Janiguda office where Mr. Ahyan Shandilya, Country Coordinator of Handicap International attended.
Dongar festival was organized at Tribal Museum, Koraput on 12th January, 2017 by INTACH, Koraput Chapter on the eve of National Youth Day.
Social Audit of AESS project was organized at Nilabadi Gram Panchayat under Bandhugaon block. The community people and Sangathen members were audited AESS project activities.
Centre for World Solidarity organized District Level Advocacy Workshop on issues/challenges of working in Conflict Zone at Skill Development, Koraput on 9th January, 2017. Mr. Jagannath Mishra invited as one of the Moderators.
Annual office picnic of Ekta has been organized at Machhakund where the AESS and Ekta project staff, Peer Educators and family members of staff were participated.
Monthly staff review meeting has been conducted at Ekta office Duruguda where the project staffs were reviewed, shared experience, leanings, best practices and coming month’s activity plans.
Different batches of ASHA refresher training was going on at Ekta, Duruguda conference hall
Training to the project staff of CCFD on electoral process was organized on 11th January, 2017 at WORD office, Damonjodi.
ARTC meeting was held on 11th January, 2017 where Ms. Bharati Mahapatra, Program Manager TI participated in the program.
