MEANING: Information that is certain and can be proven
SENTENCE: It is a fact that the Giants won the World Series in 2014.

Opinion (N.)
MEANING: A judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge
SENTENCE: It is my opinion that the Detroit Tigers are the best team in the MLB.

Argument (N.)
MEANING: Opinions that can be backed up with evidence
SENTENCE: My father and I often have an argument that the Boston Red Sox are better than the Detroit Tigers.

MEANING: To move another person or group to agree with a belief or position through argument, appeal, or course of action
