Software Requirements Specifications

1) Introduction:

The Electricity Billing System developed is an electricity bill maintaining system to efficiently manage the billing of electricity for both – PERSONAL and COMMERCIAL use.

1.1) Purpose:

We live in a developing country and as the country is developing so is the technology. Some years ago, the electricity billing was done manually and there was no proper system for the billing. The whole system was more prone to errors. So this Electricity Billing System is automated system for billing.

1.2) Scope:

The software produced will be an electricity billing system. The main objective of this software is to increase the efficiency

of the electricity billing system. It will be used for the registration of voter and for filling

nomination forms of the candidates. It will be used for the registration of new and old customers

and adding their electricity usages. Through this software the customers will get a unique id with

which all the details of the customer will be linked. It will be used to calculate the total usage and the amount to

be paid.

1.3) Definitions, acronyms and abbreviations:

J2EE - Java 2 Enterprise Edition is a programming platform and it is the part of the java platform for developing and running distributed java applications.

MS ACCESS - MS Access is the database management system that provides a flexible and efficient database platform to erect strong on demand business applications.

1.6) Overview: SRS includes two sections, overall description and specific

requirements.

Overall description will describe the role of the components of the software.

Specific requirements will describe roles & functions of the actors i.e., the consumers, corporate consumers, and the administrator.
