Switches are remotely controlled devices used to open or close an electric circuit or change its configuration. They are divided into contactors and disconnectors.

Contactors are able to open and close under load

conditions. Today they are used to connect and

disconnect high-power traction converters, auxiliary

converters, auxiliary circuits (heating, climate

control, compression, lighting, magnetic brakes).

Disconnectors are mainly used in multi-system

locomotives to change the configuration of the

traction circuit when the catenary voltage changes.

The devices operate at no load and are also

used to disconnect a failed device if necessary.

Our products are characterized by their high

customization potential. This makes it possible to

address the customer’s individual requirements.

CONTACTORS AND DISCONNECTORS

Our resistors are made mostly of steel alloy and ceramic

materials, and as a result provide total compliance

with the strictest standards of flammability and insulation

levels. Each brake resistor is designed, tested and

validated to provide a 100% customized solution

for each project/vehicle.

LTHS Flexible line, up to 2000 V and 1500 A/pole.

LTC Compact line, up to 2000 V and 1000 A/pole.

LTHH/LTE Higher-voltage line, up to 4000 V and 1800 A/pole.

LTX New line, up to 900 A per pole. Modular thanks to 4 different arc chutes (900, 1800, 3600 or 4000 V) and up to 3 pole versions. Flexible thanks to 3 configurable HV connections.

Our HSCBs are designed using the latest 3D CAD technologies and are

suitable for every rail application. Whenever the protection of the

system is required, our HSCB works as a close partner with the

propulsion designers. The HSCB protects the circuit from short circuits

and overcurrent faults. It reacts to the increase of the current in a very

short time (10 ms) and this is why it is designated as a high-speed

circuit breaker. Every HSCB is designed according to EN60077.

The Energy Measurement and Management System (EMMS) named ECOSystem provides measure-ments and data suitable for energy billing management according to EN50463, for the vehicle logic, the propulsion control system, the voltage indicator on the control desk unit and other electronic measurements.

FANS AND BLOWERSMore than 60,000 of our fan units are installed

on rolling stocks worldwide, in more than 250

international rail projects. Energy-saving and

low-noise design concepts have always been

applied to all our products, which are

specifically developed to provide the best

solutions in terms of performance, geometry,

weight, noise level and efficiency, for each of

the most critical services on board rolling

stock.

VENTILATED SUBSYSTEMS Our product range extends to complete

ventilated subsystems, such as filtering

systems (for traction motor or machine

room ventilation) and cooling systems (for

converters and transformers). Specific and

dedicated fan units from our portfolio are

integrated with radiators and filters coming

from carefully selected partners, while the

reliability of the structural parts is guaranteed

by the long-term experience of our Group in

the design and manufacturing of frames for

critical on-board installations.

The full control on the design and validation

process is achieved by extensive use

of our in-house laboratories, including

up-to-date Shock&Vibration, Environmental

and Performance test facilities.
