We work with local communities and charities to organise and manage events that have a social need as well as an interest to the community. Building on what you have...

The Emica Foundation is, for me, the most important part of Emica Consulting. I set up the Emica Foundation to address two areas in which I take a direct and personal interest:

1. Tackling poverty at home in Britain2. Working with Orphans, Disabled People and Widows in developing countries

In 1966 my parents came to Britain, to Lancashire. Britain made an enormous contribution in terms of opportunity to my family– it opened up doors for me as a child, and I therefore feel a great responsibility to give something back.

At home in Britain- where I believe our social responsibilities are most important- more than 13 million people live in poverty – that’s one in five of the population. Many people can’t afford essential clothing, or to heat their homes. Children go to school hungry, or to bed without enough food. This is outrageous.

Emica will contribute to ensuring that no person goes to sleep hungry in this country. It’s an ambitious task- but as Emica grows a significant amount of its profits will be given to the Foundation to help achieve our aims. We will be helping young people in the most deprived areas achieve their potential, by providing them with employment and learning opportunities through Emica Consulting. For example, wherever we undertake a project, we seek to engage and enlist unemployed young people in that area who were previously seen as ‘beyond hope’ by mainstream agencies. We will tap into their potential- train them, pay them and help turn their lives around.

On the international front, our work will assist the most vulnerable who so often go unnoticed: orphans, widows and disabled people. In Britain, we are fortunate that we have a generous welfare state, but in most developing nations, if you’re disabled, an orphan or a widow with children, your life is effectively over. We will play our part to help change this.

The Emica Foundation is totally funded through Emica’s commercial operations, and we do not seek funding or donations from external sources or the public, unless others themselves wish to contribute.
