    Be Prepared - Being prepared is by far themost important element. How many times doyou practice your speech?

    Give Examples- Use personal examples andstories in your speech whenever possible.Make sure your stories help to emphasize orsupport your point.

    Stay Relaxed - To stay relaxed you should beprepared. Also, focus on your message andnot the audience

    Use Natural Humor - Don't try to be a standup comedian. Use natural humor by pokingfun at yourself and something you said ordid. Be sure NOT to make fun of anyone inthe audience.

    Plan Your Body & Hand Positions-

    Duringthe practice of your speech look foroccasions where you can use a gesture

    Pay attention to all details-

    Make sure youhave the right location (school, hotel, room& time). Make sure you know how to get towhere you are speaking. Ask how large anaudience you will be speaking to.

    Making a good oral presentation is an art thatinvolves attention to the needs of your audience,careful planning, and attention to delivery.

    Skills practices for oral presentation

    Organize - Focus on your presentation.

    Visualize - Mentally rehearse a perfect

    presentation with questions and answers.

    Practice - Standing up, out loud, using visualaids. Obtain feedback from others.

    Release Tension - Try isometric exercises.Tighten and release your muscles. Start withtoes and end with fists.

    Move - Flex your muscles - don't lock! Use acordless microphone.

    Eye Contact with the Audience-

    Think one onone. Connect with the audience and makeyourself personable. Use the feedback andenergy you receive from your audience.

    Breathe-

    Sit up or stand erect, not relaxed.Inhale deeply a number of times.

    Summarize texts you have written in the past, suchas an old essay, report or story. Condensing yourown texts often proves more difficult because youmight feel that all the information is importantsimply because you wrote it.

    Cross out all minor information and unnecessarywords in an informative text, such as a newspaperarticle or a textbook chapter. Leave major nouns,adjectives, numbers and significant comments. Youshould be able to cross out 75 percent of the wordsin the article, leaving only the importantinformation.

    Arrange your summaries, or the words leftafter crossing out an article, into point-formnotes.

    There is a lesser chance for the message tobe misunderstood.

    Written instructions can be checked at alatter date. It serves as a useful reference.

    Authority is transmitted more effectivelywith a written order than with an oral one

    Effective oral presentation skills are essentialin educational, social, and professional life.

    By means of understanding our speech,

    recognizing where and when they are

    important, and learning how to improve yourskills, most of our experiences in life can be

    more effective
