Cumulative savings below is for a hospital built approximately June 2008 with a few modifications made in the fall of 2008 and major savings measures implemented in April 2009.
This data translates to reduced consumption of over 1 million kWh since May 2009 (post ESMs).

Upon Investigation these issues are discovered:
1.Defective economizer causing the refrigeration compressor to cycle on and off . 2.The main building chiller was also cycling in the early morning when it should have been cooling on outside air.

Once the diagnosis and the repairs are complete, the facility is back in the black for savings and the energy use is back to normal levels.

When the Facility Manager receives this notification for Friday, October 16th a State Holiday, its determined that the building had run a normal schedule. With the problem identified, a future problem is avoided.
